Nose…

Glass 1…much heavier ethanol but when it dissipates, I get classic Beam peanut funk and light caramel

Glass 2…less ethanol and a heavier dose of peanut, caramel and vanilla

Both of these are quite similar and it’s not surprising that they’re both spot on Beam distillate.

Palate…

Glass 1…it’s a payday bar but not quite as sweet. This tastes really good but I’d like it to be a touch sweeter to be in a better balance with the peanuts.

Glass 2…there’s my sweet lovin’ lol
This is pure liquid peanut brittle. Like real good homemade brittle. It’s sweet and nutty and the balance between the two is perfect! It’s a brighter more lively sip if that makes sense. Glass #1 is really good but #2 is incredible!

Just based on taste, I’m 100% certain that glass 2 is from my bottle…21-03 and glass 1 is 22-01.

The finish on both is great! Nice and long and the spice lingers forever. Glass 2 leaves a little more tingle on the tongue and lips, but glass 1 ain’t no slouch.

I’d gladly take a bottle of either and be thrilled to have it, but glass 2 is the winner!

based on taste? you didn't have a way to know which was which?

i'll compare them this weekend
They’re both great…it really comes down to how sweet you prefer because they’re very very similar. I typically don’t like it too sweet, but the balance that 21-03 has to me is perfect. Knowing what you like, I think you’ll prefer 22-01 but I’m certain you’ll enjoy both!

So you’re the one who read my signature. Hahahahaha

This 17 is almost gone, and I have a 14 that is under 1/2 full. Plenty in reserve, but I won’t open a new one until fall.
Yes! That’s one of the greatest lyrics ever haha. Why are we not neighbors, man that’d be cool

A well-deserved Kentucky Owl Batch 4, after a long day of travel and missed connections.

This was. FYI, at the same hotel bar from which I posted the whiskey menus a month or so ago—traveling for work again. They have a fantastic selection of bourbons and ryes, many of which (relatively speaking) are good deals at bar pricing. But the Kentucky Owl was $35/oz. I had two ounces, courtesy of my employer. :thumbs up:
