Having friends is nice. It’s even better, when they bring you a bottle! :D

Just ordered this one. Excited for it. 51% corn, 45% wheat and 4% malted barley.

Never had anything from Old Elk. My local recently got in a private barrel from them, but I’m hesitant to buy it at $80 without ever tasting any of their products. I think it’s a high wheat bottle but I honestly don’t remember. Is it worth a shot?

Old Elk makes some pretty good stuff. They have Wheated Bourbon, Wheat Whiskey, Bourbon, Rye, and a bunch of finished Bourbons.

Started tonight’s cash game festivities with a little pregame sample pour of my first taste of Knob Creek 12 courtesy of @detroitdad
I really like this! Amazing how different this is from the 9yr. Very tough get in my state unfortunately. Feel fortunate to at least get to try it…thanks Bill!

Solid choice.

My Old Elk barrel pick from one of my local stores is phenomenal.
I have a Wheat Whiskey pick that is pretty high proof too. Haven’t opened it yet. In fact, I’ve got 4 different offerings unopened and one on the way. I’ve only had Old Elk in bars here.

I was sent a blind by @Billy Baroo

A. brown sugar, oak, spice on the nose
citrus, peppery on the front, oak, slightly dry, goes down easy.

B. earth, citrus, oak on nose
ethanol, bittier, char, long peppery finish, kind of harsh.

I definitely preferred A
