FYI...for anyone that likes finished bourbon. Angel's Envy just released a batch of Single Barrels. Trying to track one down. Supposed to be fan-f'ing-tastic.

I was sent a blind by @Billy Baroo

A. brown sugar, oak, spice on the nose
citrus, peppery on the front, oak, slightly dry, goes down easy.

B. earth, citrus, oak on nose
ethanol, bittier, char, long peppery finish, kind of harsh.

I definitely preferred A

Both pours were from my infinity bottles. I figured you’d prefer the rye over the bourbon. The bourbon is very oaky and comes off a little harsh if you’re not a heavy oak/char fan, which I know you’re not. After pouring the samples, I had my first taste of the Ryefinity and really liked it!

Yeah I am definitely more rye than bourbon, and the bourbons I like are on the less char heavy side.

I just poured the new riff pick and the nose blew me away!

*chocolate right away and definitely some toasted notes - I can see marshmallow for sure. I can’t wait to get my bottle!

It is the same Sagamore I sent you. I wanted a few others to taste the bottle that slayed some giants lol. I still have a half of an opened bottle plus another. You’re not the only one who thinks this is a great bottle…I’ve bought 4 for myself plus yours

OGD114 typically only comes out for an old fashioned but I could drink this stuff neat any day!

Sad to hear that about the McKenna…I’ve never had a bad bottle and I’ve had quite a few exceptional ones!

OGD 114 is good for the price, but meh overall. I don't think you've been unlucky.

McKenna I can see bad luck playing a part, since it's a single barrel product.

Tequila and mezcal are fine. I’ll drink tequila neat with a squeeze of lime in the summer heat. But I’m 98% whisk(e)y.
