There was nothing wrong with it, but it's not anything I would go out of my way to drink. The guy who brought it said it was $40. Off the top of my head I can think of 10 bottles at that price or less that are considerably better. Bourbons and Ryes.
irish is normally vanilla, butter, sweet, light, not a ton of body. something that is frequently associated with irish whiskey is 'short bread cookies'
a lot of irish is also defined by pot still which has a distinct flavor that you'll notice pretty quickly as soon as you have it a few times, it's kinda peppery, but not peppery.
