Google Docs so I can easily reference it when I'm not at home, but same.

Type, Distillery, Bottle, ABV, Age, Open, Notes('don't buy this again', 700ml or 750ml, etc).
I started the inventory when I went into a liquor store to pick up a couple bottles of a liqueur and when I got home, found out I already had 2 bottles. LOL.

I'm similar with you and Tom.

Don't forget price paid ... really puts things in perspective on the bottom line, even when acquiring most at or near retail... especially at the amount of bottles.

I also have a "where acquired," since I get a lot when traveling.

I did the same thing. I took inventory once when I was too lazy to go into the other room and see if I had a bottle and just added it to my cart and then when it arrived, yeah, I had it.

I moved it to google docs when found that I was at a shop and couldn't remember what I had at home.

I’m only at about 40 bottles right now. I know, I know…

Same (Google sheet instead though because..... spreadsheets FTMFW). Just haven't updated it in a while.

Serious question. How many whiskey bottles that contain whiskey are inside your home?

I'll start. 210
28 if these count. Otherwise 23. But I'm new here and just started expanding less than 6 months ago. Before that I would have one or two at a time and not buy a new one until I emptied one. Which took months...

EHT single barrel stood out, then I saw the GTS price. The restaurant knows they paid $100 or $150 for that bottle, but clearly do not know the secondary value or they would triple the price.

Which explains why they said it was no longer available, but they said they had “it’s more expensive version for $65 a pour.” The “more expensive” version? Stagg Jr.! I was like, wtf? I called them on it too, and they were so embarrassed for being caught they didn’t charge me. I mean, tell me it’s out? Fine. But don’t lie to me.

My son recently bought GTS for his bar. It was $108. He charges $45 for a 1.5 oz pour. He also has Old Rip for $40. Surprisingly, that's only an $80 bottle.
