trying the B sample you sent

Cinnamon and leather on the nose

Cinnamon, oak, dryness on the finish. no ethanol burn but nice tingle. This is a very nice sipper.

It really seems familiar but can't quit place it. Is it a turkey product? maybe a russels?

I do like it. Nothing wrong with the nose, smells a bit thin or young maybe? Palate is better, I get some good spice notes in there and the finish is surprising for a 98.6 proofer. Can't wait to see how it evolves. (I'm only on my 2nd sip)

I freaking love Bookers. This batch has taught me, don't ever walk past a Bookers. Buy just 1 of each you find. I used to think it was over oaked. Turns out, I am an oak man.

Damn! I thought it was bad when my neighborhood bar raised the prices of BTAC to $65, up from $50. Handy is still $54. That Old Forester Barrel Proof Rye though.

So sorry for your loss.

Last weekend, I had dinner with friends at a downtown kind-of-dive-ish sports bar. Food was basic bar food but good and not expensive.

Whiskey selection was awful, their best option was Bulleit, so I had one. I didn't realize it until I got the check, but it was $18.

I'm still pissed.

Probably not unless the shelves are adjustable. Some bottles are taller than they seem! I had to take my bookers and little book out of their boxes to get them in my cabinet.

Had my first "double oaked" bourbon last night. Forgot to snap a pic but it was Woodford Reserve. It was different. I didn't hate it.

I also opened the OF 1897 half bottle that came in the holiday sampler they were selling last year along with 1910 and 1920. I was quite pleased as it was better than I was expecting.
