EHT single barrel stood out, then I saw the GTS price. The restaurant knows they paid $100 or $150 for that bottle, but clearly do not know the secondary value or they would triple the price.
Question about EHT. Has anyone had the small batch and the SiB side by side? Is there really a big discernible difference? Both are the same proof. It's got me curious since small batch is a bit easier to find. I can get both at my store with loyalty points, but the SiB costs four times as many points.

Yes, I ran them blind before.

The issue with single barrels is that it’s a gamble. I found this especially with McKenna 10yr BiB.

They are usually better than small batch, but not always significantly better. I’ve mostly had EHT single barrels that are bangers, but a few have been just as good or slightly better than small batch.

Is there value in single barrels? For sure, especially close to MSRP… or in this case, close-ish to the small batch price.

I don’t think EHT SiB is 4 times better than SB.

Struck out on finding the Stagg Jr store pick (well, I found it but they wouldn’t sell it to me), so I assuaged my melancholy with twins.

The local whiskey bar here usually has a couple btacs and/or a pappy on hand. Several years ago the were charging $160 for a pour of GTS. Last time I was in there maybe a year ago I think they were charging $250 a pour for handy. I don't drink whiskey there anymore lol.

Damn! I thought it was bad when my neighborhood bar raised the prices of BTAC to $65, up from $50. Handy is still $54. That Old Forester Barrel Proof Rye though. :cool

So sorry for your loss.

My wife wants me to replace my cabinet since it’s full and I have bottles in the basement. She said she approves this one. I kinda like it. Big question is will all my bottles fit

Probably not unless the shelves are adjustable. Some bottles are taller than they seem! I had to take my bookers and little book out of their boxes to get them in my cabinet.
