Figured I’d grab a $20 nip to see if there is a possibility I can like scotch.

Fuck no- still hate it. Grimaced and finished

okay, so Johnny Walker Blue isn't really good scotch, it is just very expensive scotch, HOWEVER, it is right down the middle of home plate for peated scotch. It's got all of the right notes, nothing wrong, nothing too strong, not too finished, it's just 3x as expensive as it should be.

So basically, maybe you don't just like Scotch.

This was a very unique and extremely tasty bottle. Tastes just like the leftover milk from a bowl of Cocoa Puffs with just a touch of citrus on the finish. Definitely a great dessert pour. Don’t know if this profile is unique to this particular barrel or if it’s a common characteristic of the limousin oak used for the secondary finishing. Either way, it’s really good and I’ll probably grab another one while my local still has them.

Scotch is lovely because it makes me slam on the brakes and take it slow. Kinda just sip and savor over a lovely evening. With bourbon and Irish, I kinda want to keep drinking and finish sooner that I’d like.

Blantons is not the Kobe beef of whiskey lol. If I had any ginger ale on hand I would pour some and post it.
This is what I was thinking too. I've only had Blanton's once and I wasn't that impressed. It was good, but I have a few bottles that are better. And much easier to find.

What are your top 3 picks of ECBP since 2020?

Mine are, in chronological order, B520, C920, and C922. Haven't tasted A123 yet...

You?
  1. C920
  2. C922
  3. A122
Though iirc I wasn't able to find a bottle of B520 during lockdown. C921 was also good but a very different offering, much grittier and unrefined, but in a good way.

Haven't seen an A123 yet.
