Opened some Knob Creek gasoline this evening. It's good, but quite hot. Not bad for a neck pour. I can't remember the last time I had a sip of bourbon three nights in a row. Tomorrow - FOUR! I'll probably open this bottle's rye brother.

I gotta stop getting store picks from my grocery store. I haven't had a good one yet. Blech. I guess I'm only two sips in, so I'll keep at it. It's rare for me to change my mind much about a whiskey after those first two sips though.

Pickups from the grand opening of a new liquor store by my house. Anyone tried either of the two on the right?
The CS Redwood Empire Pipe Dream is very good! If you run across the cask strength Emerald Giant rye, get two…I think it’s the best of the three varieties.

I am not disciplined about much in my life, but I can at least say I've been consistent drinking daily bourbon this week! 4 in a row, 4 new bottles open.

(The background bottles are today's delivery from everybody's dealer, Mr. Pink)

Be careful… I’ve kinda turned myself off to whiskey. I was doing just a normal pour a day for a while, opening and sampling bottles. I might have overdone it. I’m back to beer, wine, and cocktails for a while.

I’m unexpectedly across the street from the Catoctin Creek distillery tasting room.

Anything good there I should grab? (I won’t be sampling or drinking.)

Edit: grabbed these. The bottle on the right is a pour-your-own barrel select aged in Weller bourbon barrels used for maypole syrup and Adroit Theory stout. Look forward to trying it.

And yes… I recognize the irony considering my post above.

What’s the asterisk?

And with some of those high prices, I wonder how long some of those bottles have been on that top shelf and how the taste has been impacted?

I think the asterisk means 1oz pours instead of 1.5oz.

They go through bottles pretty quickly. I’ve never had a spoiled pour.
