Finally popped my COVID cherry. Man, this actually sucks. However, I heard whiskey and fondling 43mm IHC chips cures this shit

Can’t speak to the healing powers of fondling chips, but a fifth of 101 Turkey that I snuck into the guest room made my covid quarantine experience much more enjoyable  :ROFLMAO:

Buzzard's Roost ___________ whiskey? Yay or nay? (There are about five varieties that showed up at the liquor store this week. But not the Cigar Rye.)

Since starting this journey relatively recently, I’ve been in much more of an acquiring phase than a consuming phase as of late. Nothing spectacular…just trying to find and procure some of the common $60-80 level greatest hits of the thread.

Here’s my issue! And I admit it is indeed a first world problem!!

As I’ve done so, I realize I want to start sharing some acquisitions and nightly pour picks but what I currently drink out of is an utter embarrassment! Let’s call it an oversized shot glass. But the glassware I’d like to buy would make my wife puke (2 glasses for ~$100 shipped).

If you’re still reading, this is where you come in.

Help me get to my ~$40-50 glasses! Just like I’ve convinced my wife on Paulson Leaded Chips…help me convince her on a pair of nice bourbon glasses. Serious ideas or crazy - all are allowed. But if you actually are the reason she decides to say yes I’ll send ya something random in appreciation!!

GO!!

Why $40-50? Why not standard Glencairn or similar glasses for much cheaper?

I think I’ll pour Wild Turkey 12yr next… for science.

For me, it’s not even close. This WT12 is light years ahead of the RR13, and I really like the RR13. This WT12 has such depth and richness, with the perfect amount of proof and spice. Please pray that it becomes available in the US.

This is the way. Plus, if you are inviting people over to share a pour, you will need more than two glasses.

This was the best deal I could find on Glencairns. 6 for $36. Added bonus? No puking wife.

These are my favorites.

I think I am getting the shakes. I have been dry all week. I figured with family visiting this weekend, and DiD next week, I should give my body a break lol

I pretty much like everything that they do. The WT 101 is and the Rare breed are staples at my house.

It’s not the price range as much as the glass I found that I like in particular.

I’m not a huge fan of standard Glencairn glasses because of the ease of being knocked over. I’m a klutz. I’ve got two boys who aren’t very careful around me, etc.

These actually look promising given the shape! Like I said, it’s a sturdy standing glass (that isn’t a rocks shape) I’m after more than any particular one!!

I have these also. Less likely to tip over.

Another fellow glencairn hater. I enjoy the affirmation of not being the only one.

Heading to a new spot in town Saturday that has a nice selection. Any standouts? I was thinking about a Weller as that's one that's escaped me thus far.

Blue note Juke Joint is good. Maybe for $11.
EH Taylor Barrel Proof is money. One of my favorites. I also love the rye.
Weller Full Proof or 12yr. Skip the Antique at that price. CYBP is probably a good price relative to the rest.
Balvenie Caribbean is a great summer scotch, if that is your thing.
If you want a PREMIUM, George T Stagg is probably the best value there.
