Day 9: Caisteal Chamuis, 46%. This is the second Torabhaig distillery offering in the box. First look and smell reminds me of Laphroaig. Peaty campfire with hints of vanilla and caramel. This drams tastes of salt, tannins and oak with a surprise lemon quality. The finish is smokey and brings back the vanilla offering. 8/10

First time I hear of Caisteal Chamuis. Apparently an Island Malt blend bottled by the owners of Torabhaig: Caol Ila, Highland Park, Ledaig and, of course, Torabhaig itself. Good to know you liked it more than the Allt Gleann.

Lagavulin 16 one of my favorites! Pretty much the going rate where I am @ $89 to $97. Never tried the Offerman. Go for it and give us a review!

Day 8: Ledaig Rioja Cask Finish Sinclair Series, 46.3%. Nose on this one quickly hits of peat, pepper, leather, and cherry. Tasting this beautifully colored dram brings to the forefront black pepper, apples and cherry. The finish isn't long with tannins and salt. 7/10.

Day 10: Rock Island Malt Scotch Whisky, 46.8%. Nose is of peat, pear and the ocean. The flavor of the dram is of the ocean, black pepper, peat and vanilla. The dram finishes with more pear, peat and a beautiful sea breeze. I really enjoyed this offering and want another dram. 9/10

Day 11: Mac-Talla Mara, 58.2%

Day 11: Mac-Talla Mara, 58.2%. This unknown Islay has the nose of a peaty campfire with undertones of nutty aromatics and hints of lemon. Tasting results in a flavor of oak, vanilla, charcoal, and finishes with lemon, peat, and sea salt. Overall, I was expecting a burn at this 58%, but this was very smooth all the way from nose to finish. I appreciated the cask strength which gets a +1 for that alone. 8/10.

Day 12: Talisker Port Ruighe, 45.8%
