There was a time I went to go buy some Stagg Jr, but somebody else got there first and BOUGHT IT ALL.

They only sell one bottle at a time here if it's rare. All the liquor stores, doesn't matter if its Weller, Blanton's, or whatever. You only get one bottle of rare bourbon per visit. Pretty cool!

What's it take to get a sample of that GTS? I have some Orphan Barrel Rhetoric 25 and just picked up a bottle of Kentucky Owl The Wiseman's Rye Batch 3...plus about 70 other bottles to choose from.

Found the EC Toasted Barrel at my grocery store today. I did not think Michigan would be one of the release states for this special bottling. Wasn't planning on buying on secondary but for retail, I'll give it a whirl. It's about the same price as the ECBP so it will be impossible to beat that one, imo. It's a bit steep for a 94 proofer. I'm a fan of the Woodford Double Oak and the OF 1910 so hopefully EC will do the toasted barrel as well as those other two do.

I've read mixed reviews on it. I'm really excited to hear your opinion!

I was excited when I heard that one of my favourite distillers was gonna do a toasted (never had a chance to sample Michters toasted), but I've not heard good things...

I am working on a small project and I need 11 horses from the Blanton’s bottle. Doesn’t matter the letter, just need the horses. I know they sell them at the distillery but it will be awhile before I can make it there.

Anyone have any extra’s laying around from a dead bottle?

I am collecting them too!!

I was just thinking it’s probably not very cost effective to have to pay for shipping for single horses. I know the distillery charges $4.50 a horse, if I don’t find any from friends, I may just take a drive down there.

From the series "Drained but not Forgotten", the ol' faithful Ardbeg 10 and the fantastic Deanston 10 PX:

I haven’t opened my ardbeg 10 yet. I got it as a gift and promised my friend I’d open it with him. Then pandemic happened and I haven’t been able to see him. He told me to just open it but I feel bad. I did buy the udgaildail and it is fantastic. Gift me your notes on the 10

I have two finished and another almost finished. Also a gold almost empty

What's up with the letters??

Each horse is stamped with a letter. If you blow up my pic, you’ll see the S by its hoof. There are 8 different letters spelling out B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S. And the legs are in different positions representing each stride of the horse coming down the backstretch.

I tried Maker’s Mark Cask Strength recently... Liked it pretty well. Sometimes Makers can be too rich/syrupy; this version seemed more complex. Maybe I was just in the right frame of mind. 110 proof iirc
