Rec'd a sample bottle today from my son. This is the Eagle Rare barrel that he helped pick for a local store. My palate is nothing special, so I may not have all the right words to describe this, but it greatly exceeds any other regular Eagle Rare bottles I have tasted. There was a blast of fruit in the initial nose, which then subsided to wood and some leather. Flavor was delicious. I'm terrible at describing what I taste, but I do know good from bad. LOL. It also clearly hit above the ABV belt for a 90 proof bourbon. I should be getting my own bottle soon and I can't wait.

By the way, he mentioned that nose was a big reason why they picked this one. Another reason was age. It's nearly 13 years old as opposed to the typical ER 10 year bottles.

Damn this is spicy. Significantly more so than any batch they’ve done to date. Spiciest wheater I’ve ever had. B523 was awesome, C923 was not quite on that level and sadly, this one steps down even further. Hoping this one gets better with some breathing time because this drinks real hot. It’s not bad but definitely one I won’t pursue a backup of.

I don't usually spend this much on a bottle but I have never tried it and won $2,500 on NC State alone with this North Carolina sports betting bonuses and I'm a Tar Heel guy. I bought it because my good friend went to State and they haven't done a run like this in 41 years, plus they beat dook. It's been a freaking amazing run. Like '83 they wouldn't have even been in the Big Dance without winning the ACC Tournament and had to beat UNC. So knowing how the ACC can play, I used NCSU in a bunch of parlays knowing there was a chance. Hit a bunch of them. Got more bets on them with freerolls, why not? When a casino gives you an edge, take it.

I'm hosting a scotch, bourbon, cigars and wings Final 4 party on Saturday. No poker. Hope it's good. My first scotch pour was JW Blue.
