Holy crap. That's unbelievable. Some big expensive names in there as well. I'm in for samples!

Spectacular collection, Bloody -- especially the Ardbegs. But I'd get rid of that rack of the six United Distillers bottles! ;)

The oldest Scotch is a bottle of Connoisseur's Choice 1947 Glenugie. The favorite Scotches are my last bottle of 1974 Ardbeg and the Macallan 30 (which is the remains of our wedding bottle), as well as the full range of Glenfarclas. The favorite Irishes are Redbreast 15, Yellow Spot, and Green Spot. The favorite bourbon is Pappy Van Winkle 22 and 23. The favorite Calvados is family-made, presented as a gift. There are also a few Armagnacs, XO Cognacs, and rums.

What can I say -- we drink. Home poker games tend to get adventurous after about 10 pm.

Finally got some Elmer T. Lee in our area -- picked up a bottle tonight, and sipping it now. Pretty nice.

Also scored a bottle of Oban Little Bay. Has anyone tried this?

Big fan of the Elmer T Lee here, specially for the price...

VERY curious to hear your assessment of the Oban Little Bay... Never tried before... Unfortunately, I cannot say the Oban 14 is among my favorites... Have high hopes for the Little Bay though...

Some of my favorite bourbons:

Kentucky Vintage-crappy cap but complex and like an old stump.

Eagle Rare
Rowan's Creek

Great stuff, the specs by me will sell out 2 cases the day they get it in.

The three specs by me are sold out, but there's one a little farther that has it listed as available. I'll have to put it on my list, because I know I've seen it before, unlike the elusive Elmer T Lee.

Are we morally opposed to whiskey with stuff in it? Because Bulleit Rye makes a solid old fashioned.

Looking good toaster!! :)

Bulleit Rye makes a great Manhattan as well...

I'm not opposed to mixing at all, it's great for kinda change things up a bit...

One of my favorite mixed drink is bourbon based: the whiskey smash...

Go nuts with it man!! :)

Templeton Rye has been my go to for a while. But you can't go wrong with Bulleit anything.

I had the Bakers 7 recommended to me but I find it a bit full on. Much prefer Noah's Mill (although it's been a while since I've had any).

My go-to malt has been Aberlour 10, in large part due to it always being on offer. And I'm leaning towards more sherried drams of late.

I picked a 23 yr old last week. Not sure if I'll enjoy her over Christmas or save her until child no. 3 arrives

.... I find it a bit full on.....

Guessing here: does that mean a bit strong, or perhaps crudely alcoholic?

Ah -- that one I know. It means available at your usual watering holes, right?

A 23-year-old? Umm, offhand, if you take precautions while enjoying her over xmas, you shouldn't have to worry about child no. 3.

^ Yes, that's it. The guy in my shop, whose advice is usually good, said it is full of flavor. I just found it crudely alcoholic and lacking in discernible flavor. Water didn't help unlock say depth or subtlety - just full on liquor!

^ No, I mean it's always going cheap in my local shop. Weirdly, it's one of the only things that is cheap in store.

Ha ha. Knowing my luck it'd be twins+. It's a Mortlach iirc. It's a Carn Mor bottling, their packaging is quite non-descript. We talked about 25 different whiskies and I can't recall which one I went for off the top of my head!
