I do have another bottle so I really didn't need this one, but I haven't seen this for under $100 in quite a while. At $80 I pounced lol (it was the last one, based on the condition of the box I'm guessing they found it buried in the stock room). The Bulleit 12 was only $45 too, first time I've seen one on the shelves around here.
Nice score for $80…I’m jealous since I paid $100 for mine. That Bulleit 12yr is sneaky good! I bought 2 backups after I cracked my first one but I’m a sucker for 95/5 MGP :cool

I'm not going to say it too loudly, but I feel like prices are finally starting to come back to earth. I've noted several bottles that were going for $100 six months ago are now back in the $75 range (where they should be). And - at least around here - I'm starting to see more bottles on the shelf that a year or two ago would have been behind glass for 3x retail, like JDSBBP ryes and Four Roses BS. They're not all coming down (I saw a Stagg and an EHT SiB for $200 each), but maybe the boom is starting to break....

Maybe we have a new economic indicator, call it the "whiskey index". Kind of like how strippers are the first to know when an economic downturn is forthcoming. We see secondary prices on whiskies drop.

I said the same thing to my guy at one of the stores I buy from. Also funny how things I get messages about also sit behind the counter for quite some time and it’s not because they are overpriced.

If you haven’t tried this, do it….unbelievably smooth. It is small batch and you never know what you’re gonna get…but the bottle I had was INCREDIBLE….

Very interesting pour. Very bright citrus on the nose…lemon and grapefruit along with some pear and pineapple. Very tropical vibe like their small batch that’s finished in Caribbean rum casks. Palate translates well into the nose and it’s nice and oily in texture. Very faint note of shortbread cookie but it’s covered up for the most part by the vibrance of the fruit notes. There’s a very nice heat from the pot still spice on the finish but it’s not quite as long as I’d like but overall it’s a pretty good sipper.
