If I may ask good sir, what is the proof on your Whistle Pig Single Barrel? (mine is 106.7)

114.2 but then @DirtyTIVA bombs us with this one. :wow: Smooth as f@ck!

I don’t know shit about Japanese whiskey. Is this any good? Worth the price?

Interesting packaging! I always worry that over packaged spirits are going to lack attention for stuff inside the bottle. That might not always be true but it seems like some of the best juice comes in simple packaging. But then some packages are so cool it’s worth it even if the juice sucks.

I think Knob Creek is having production issues and shortages. Shelves used to be full of Knob Creek around here, now I'm lucky if a store has more than one Knob Creek selection of anything.

Where do any of you go, or join, to find secondary market prices? I don't plan on participating in the secondary market, at least not on the demand side. But if somebody wants to pay something stupid like $600 for my Jack Daniels 10yr, I'd be stupid to say no. Mostly, I'm just curious. Since it's kind of a gray market.

Notre Dame beats USC  Fantastic lineup this evening! Tonight's rye challenge final lineup, final rankings left to right:

1a Knob creek cask strength rye 9.7
Very rich on the nose, sweet caramel & berry nose. Deep red fruit on the palate, peppery spice ramps up on the long finish. High octane. Soooo good.

3 Seagrass rye 9.1
Lots and lots of apricot, both on the nose and the palette. Sweet red fruits come through on the initial taste, then the proof and spicy rye take over as it finishes. Unique and interesting.

4 Peerless barrel strength rye 9.0
Subtle nose, rye and a hint of maple and oak and apple orchard. Palate continues with rye and oak. Very smooth. Very solid rye but nothing really stands and special.

6 High West Rendezvous Rye 8.4
Grape magic marker nose. Palate matches the nose, mild & sweet but finishes dry, get more peppery as it sits.

5 Old Overholt 11 year Rye 8.5
Very mild nose, slight oak and dark fruit. Palate is very balance between sweeter oak/dark cherry and the slicey rye. Very long smooth finish.

1b Alberta premium cask strength rye 9.6
Citrus and rye, otherwise not a very strong nose. Palate is a high octane flavor explosion. I get citrus, rye, wood, leather, pepper, spice, rye, heat. Every sip is a little different. Medium finish. Yum!

Next challenge: make it upstairs from the basemnt without falling over.... :wtf:

I have batch #2 of the KC Cask Rye and it’s by far the best rye I’ve ever had! It still amazes me how easy it drinks for being 127 proof.

KO4 DOWN. Brings a tear to me eye. I have one more back up, but.....it is still in town for, yes, $300. Fuck it, I'm IN!
My local has 3 bottles of this still on the shelf. They’ve been sitting there for months at $300 a pop. I just can’t get myself to ever plunk down that kind of cash for one bottle, although I have no doubt it’s amazing juice!

Any J.Mattingly fans? I bought these bottles but haven’t popped them yet. I know if I pop one I’ll have to pop them all to compare.
