Poker Chip Shipping Tips and Tricks (6 Viewers)

Just a word of warning, the envelope will be fed through a feeder machine that could break the chip. It happened twice that I know of from US to Canada…
There is a $0.30 charge for a nonmachinable item but I’m not sure how one request that on purpose. Seems like USPS would rather push people to the first class parcel/package service which does add tracking but starts at $15 for international like @SiouxperStack was told.

If USPS refuses to send by first class letter/flats international and will only send by the way more expensive first class parcel/package international service, then sign up for PirateShip.com for free, request they enable Simple Export Rate, and you can ship up to half a pound to Canada with tracking for “only” $9.

For the love of all that is holy guys, STOP WRAPPING BARRELS IN SARAN WRAP!!!! It does not accomplish jack shit aside from making it a nightmare for the person unwrapping it. You hold a barrel wrapped in saran and shake it around vigorously, they still move. It’s just quieter lol Seriously. Stop with the monkey business.

Uh oh. I’m guilty of using Saran Wrap. Recently I just wrapped them while in the warneke boxes, then put the cover over them, then tape the cover, then surround them with bubble wrap, then blow kisses to them, and follow it up with a moment of silence while I cry.

So you’re one of the guys that make it harder than breaking into Fort Knox?????

Personally, I favor the saran wrap. Tightly wrapped, with tape.

Zero movement, no lost chips, no damage.

If I can get into a chip shipment in under 2 minutes, I feel like I'm lucky the chips ever arrived at all.

Makes sense to me only if they’re inside of SFRB’s and the like without being in a Warneke or another similar chip box. If the chip box is taped up at the #2 and the #4 barrel spot, they’re not going anywhere unless Godzilla wants to open everything up to have a look.

I don’t get the Saran Wrap hate. Is that just one man’s opinion? To unpack, twist the barrel of chips like a food jar and they’ll slip out of the center. If you’re trying to unwrap the Saran Wrap as if you wanna reuse it, you’re going to have a hard time

I wouldn’t mind if the Warneke box was wrapped in plastic wrap instead of taped with scotch tape, or worse, packing tape. If taped, please use masking or painters tape so that they can be removed from the box without damaging it.

Fucking facts!

I find that Saran wrap protects the chips (or box) from the sticky residue of the tape. The tape does all the work holding the chips together, while the wrap keeps everything sticky-free.

A thumbnail is usually enough to rip the saran wrap - assuming the tape doesn't just pull it off.

Then again, I open chips like a kid opening gifts at Christmas. There are shreds of wrapping flying everywhere as I get to the goods.

I do twist the Saran Wrap in opposite directions and pops open. The problem lies within taking the chips out of the split halves without shit flying everywhere. I think it’s time to invent a contraption similar to Warneke but for shipping chips. Foam liner for snug fit. Problem solved.

Can’t you just cut the tape and leave it there?

Yes that’s what I do and I understand scotch tape is more readily available than masking tape. Just would prefer a cleaner looking box if possible.
On the other hand, I’ve received chips in boxes that have been used and reused so many times that the leftover packing tape is the only think keeping them together.
I love getting a box that’s been around the block, especially when it’s been labeled and relabled with chip names so many times, that you think you can identify one of the previous owners.

Did they move though? That definitely looks like something I did recently.

Unlikely but I almost lost a nail and I think I almost damaged a chip cutting it off. No seriously, nothing happened. Just takes a lot of patience to remove. It’s like a mini puzzle. “Where’s the end of this stuff? Aahhaaaa. Oh never mind. Not working.”

Cubic Parcel is available from USPS starting today. Looks cheaper than most of the Priority rates. Of course, it's supposed to be slower than Priority at 2-8 days.

I hate suran wrap, and when people use little squares of cardboard in warneke boxes. Just tape the boxes tight ffs.

...and if you want to get the absolute best treatment for your chips, just put an angry emoji sticker on the box. Right to the front of Kifer's line ;)
That would work. I am bias and love a good laugh.

But to be fair, I dont think anyone has any issues with my wait time.
