Some more bar 1/1. Well technically it's 1/1 but the max buy is 500, and people open anywhere from 6 to 20. Highlight of the night was a $10 button straddler getting raised to $45 and calling. Straddler calls a pot sized bet on flop and turn, then an all in on the river. Turns out he had 24o and hit the straight on the river. He may have won that pot but the rest of the table needled him all night.

We use a variety of structures, as part of our Heads-up "Master of Poker" series. The current series has 31 events, including 9 NLHE tournaments, 5 NLHE cash games, 2 limit cash games, and 15 other poker games from Open Face Chinese and Pineapple up to Scarney.

For the most part, the structures are the same as our regular tournament structures, but with shorter level times. For example, last night used our T1,000,000 structure. Usually that has 20 minute levels, but for heads-up we used 12 minute levels. Most tournaments last 2 hours (we also have 2 deepstack structures that last 4 hours).

I thought about creating a thread detailing the whole process, but figured interest would be low in such a series.
Happy to say I booked a win in our first matchup…we are working out the structure for the rest of the year and plan to learn some new games. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

2-0…crazy pineapple night. Broke the no food on the table rule…but it was worth it.

Had a decent 2/5 NL outing at Wind Creek last night, trying out their new poker room. In for $1400 out for $2475.

Would have had well over $3500 if I didn't lose KK to QQ pre-flop. Villian limps pre UTG, two additional limpers to hero in MP who raises to $30. Folds to the villain who 3 bets to $85. Folds to hero who now, heads up, 4 bets to $225. Villian insta-jams for $1050. Hero covers villian by 2.5x. Obviously this screams KK vs. AA so I thought about it for a minute or two, but I'm not good enough to fold KK pre flop so I make the call. I asked villain "do you have me crushed?" as I show KK. "Not yet." Flop comes QJ5 and he goes "now I do" and turns over QQ. Womp womp. -_-

For those of you on the east coast, I enjoyed the poker room a lot. This is iteration #4 of where their poker has been, from the main floor by slot machines, to a separate room that used to be high limit slots, to another back area off the main floor near baccarat, to a separate, secluded room adjacent to the bathroom with its own cage. Definitely the best of the 3 previous attempts. I hope it stays there for a long time.

Is this the former Sands casino? Haven't been in a while. Told myself I want to start playing more casino poker in 2023.

I just want to lick those chips all over. So yummy.

I was just looking at that. I've seen Administrative fees, and dealer costs, but a player fee - that's new to me.

This I vow: If I ever win the lottery and open a card room, I will charge a single "rake". No tricky shenanigans. No $18 dealer's fee, $14 player's fee, $17 seat fee, and $12 administrative fee - just a straight up, $61 rake.

Nobody cares how the house breaks down their expenses. Trying to hide it behind "low cost" fees is simply disingenuous.

OK, after each PCF meet-up in the neighborhood, I may need to implement a chip replacement cost fee - but you guys will know that would be a necessary cost.
