So it Begins... (11 Viewers)

I prefer solid no mold over some of the shit I've seen produced recently.
I may have some chips for you!

It could be an upside to casino shifting to shitty plastic chips, as it will free up edge spots. However, if the machines are on their last leg and more and more spots are removed from sales, I guess it won't matter.

One paradox that I keep getting stuck on is everyone in the industry saying that chip costs are a miniscule cost of a casino, yet the casinos insist on choosing cheap crap. The chips are very much representing the casino and as everyone are bringing a souvenir back with them, it's basically works as marketing for the casino. So why don't they put a minimum of effort and value to it?

Serious question @kk405 @JeepologyOffroad

Did GPI offer you the same assurance that your colors spots would not be replicated? I’m wondering what the verbiage on that is ?

what’s the policy on reordering chips later? I am assuming there’s now an open account and we can run a solids tourney set pretty easy :b LFG!

I’m really curious about this as well. Maybe it’s the time of year where I reach out to my guy at GPI and inform him that while he may think they only work with licensed casinos I have lots of evidence to the contrary. Then advise him that his children and wife will have a lot better of a Christmas in 2023 when he sees the commision he gets from selling a NAGB ;)

can I assume re-orders for these are forevAr?

Asking the real question here...

No clue why everyone thinks this. Worst rumor ever whoever started it. That would be nice though wouldn’t it? I wouldn’t have even had to go broke if that were the case.

@Johnblue your answer :(

GPI could have one of their moles here make it seem like they’re starting a NAGB asking $10/chip. Just sayin.
Wasn't RPC over $10 per chip?

Wouldn't work for a large number of folks, but you'd think the masses of people outside of this forum might be buyers at $4-5 a chip.

Are you suggesting that normal people would pay $500 a rack? Doubtful
Think there are plenty of people who would pay $5 a chip, assuming they were just ordering from a website.

Like 42 different chips might be a bit much, and an obvious pain, but throw up 10-15 and let em sell.

I used to think that hope sprung eternal was inspiring.

It was just a phase. Now it’s abysmally sad.

GPI will never make chips en masse for the consumer community again. We’re a pain in the ass in almost every conceivable way, and it’s just not that profitable for them.
Pretty much what @bergs said...

Practically anyone who has spoken to sales people, senior management, or any decision maker at GPI or Angel in the last few years has walked away with the same exact impression/answer: they have no interest in the consumer market and prefer if we all went away...It's anyone guess if they will ever change their mind, but we've been down this road for multiple NAGBs in the last 7 years already and these conversations are usually by newer members, who understandably may not know all the details of the previous discussion on PCF: No matter what assumptions you make and or what spreadsheet you use, the consumer market for Paulson chips is minuscule compared to their casino business...combine that with all other factors (security, casino complaints, legal/regulatory hassle, etc.), it is next to no chance they would 'willingly' produce chips for the consumer market...

But I am sure this topic will come up again and again after the next NAGB...

I've been trying not to answer questions that are borderline fantasy stuff or those that would pull me in a rabbit hole... but against my better judgement...

The policy is: never...not happening... ever...the door/gate to the vault is permanently closed and the bridge is destroyed with a nuclear blast

see above... and people should really REALLY stop making assumptions...

Haha okay so they found out and are pissed? I’m surprised you don’t sign some time agreement before placing an order?

Thanks for answering our questions. I know everyone is throwing anything and everything out including myself.

The more I hear about NAGB ordering processes, the less I understand. Congrats to those who can do it. Really wish there was a consumer focused company whose chip recipe rivaled TRK or GPI.
