I think Tommy's set should contain

100 X .25
300 X 1
500 x 5
80 x 25
20 x 100

Besides that, I honestly think you would be better served combining a few of the sets, and breaking up by the barrel as opposed to 50. No reason to have an extra 50 x 1000, when you could just sell a full rack of $1000 in one of the sets. GLWS

Sure.

The first comment was directed more at Tommy to expand that set!

IMO- I would combine a couple of the cash sets, So someone can get enough 5"s to spread a full table of 1/2, otherwise a buyer may be hesitant to bid on a smaller set that would not fit their needs. Are you planning on listing as auctions or in the calssifieds - that will be a big difference.

In general, I think people like to buy the larger chips by the stack...but that may just be me. Break the 100 and 1000s up into multiples of 20 instead of 50. As mentioned there is no need to have a random 50 x 1000 chips left over... Throw them into one of the tourney sets to give a full rack of 1000, and it will be more desirable.

Hope that helps explain my point.

i guess you call tournament sets the sets begining by 25

i don't know yet if i put auctions or classified as eBay would charge so much in fees

Yes, the sets that start at 25 are going to be used for tournaments. If you want to do an auction, you don't need to use eBay. A very nice Mapes set was auctioned in the classifieds here this year.

I'm out of this race as well. More CPC chips! (y)

We need a group photo shoot or that's just a bunch of TR King boxes ;)
You need new poker friends if you have a few disappear each game. What a DB:mad:

$5/? Whoa, I am out on these as well if that is the price. More Dunes!!

The $5 per chip amount wasn't mentioned to me but my best offer seems to have taken a backseat. I will be placing my CPC order this week so my funds will be going to David now. Definitely awesome chips and I would love to own a cash set, but there is too much uncertainty. GLWS and (y) to whom ever scores a set of these.

Out of respect for all the info given to me by the forum i have decided to put 2 sets of 500 in auction in PCF only to keep the price acceptable.
One tournament and another set to decide.
Please don't collude.
The other sets may go through eBay... i don't know yet.Somewhere where everybody in the world can bid.
The auction will last until november 19th and will start at $3/chip shipping not included.
I'm setting it up tonight.

I think you're making a huge mistake in breaking up the set. I also do not think that any of your proposed set breakdowns will be attractive to buyers.

Seller is wanting to break set up. What's your optimum set breakdown?

Yes please

i made a breakdown taking into account the offers i received.
to be frank i'm tired of thinking the breakdown, have been thinking all week end long and then i'm almost ready to sell them by racks if i can't find a good breakdown.

That's the rub, isn't it? Selling these is a little like selling a Superman issue #1. It may be worth a fortune, but there's going to be a very limited market because it will cost so much. You may not ever ever see a sale at all.

I would love to get a set of these chips. I would also love to get an Aston Martin DB9. Both are out of my price range - not because I don't have the money, but because I can get something really nice (though not as nice) for a fraction of the cost.

Again, I wish you the best of luck. This is probably the nicest set of chips ever offered, and will likely never be matched. I mean, Mint TRKs - and in volume. Just an outrageous opportunity. I don't know if anyone can say what would give you the most money - waiting forever for a big buyer, or tearing the set apart and selling the scraps for much less (and likely being stuck with some odd leftovers). This set is just too epic. I think your best bet would be to attend a live convention (like the CCGTCC in Las Vegas) to meet with serious collectors with serious funds. Yes, It's a flight 1/2 way around the world for you, but you're talking about $10,000-$15,000 dollars! Live life - Vegas isn't a bad way to do it!

My head hurts lol

Custom chips are not that far from $3 per chip so I think 3-5$ is not that far fetched. No yr long wait, no art fees etc.

Prob cheaper in the long run and you get MINT TRK obsolete chips.

Sets 4,5,6 do have issues with the breakdown. But, the risk alone with a single buyer is worth considering. Plus, 5 figure budgets aren't that common...

Part of me agrees with @BGinGA that breaking up a set of this magnitude would, in some ways, be a bad thing. On the other hand, I can see the argument for wanting the maximum number of people to have a piece of a highly desirable set as well.

Here's how I might consider breaking it up if I were trying to subdivide these into 5 sets to maximize usability given what you're looking to sell. Take it for what it's worth.

cash set #1 (1000 chips, bank of just over $4,000)

100 x $0.25
600 x $1
200 x $5
100 x $25

cash set #2 (1400 chips, bank of just under $20,000)

400 x $1
650 x $5
250 x $25
100 x $100

[3] small tournament sets* (350 chips each, bank of just over T100,000)

120 x $25
100 x $100
80 x $500
50 x $1000

*starting stacks for a T5000 tournament could be something like 12/7/8 with the extra T100 and T1000 used for color-ups and rebuys, respectively.

Although each tournament set is setup up for a STT, obviously someone could choose to buy two or three of the tournament sets to allow for MTT.
