They are very expensive now... if I stuck with that hobby and not found chips... it would be really bad by now!! Lol

I'm surprised you haven't made an offer to buy my bulk Lego - there's tons of sorted bricks from 80's and 90's and early 2000's themed sets, including a large amount of minifig parts - this is in addition to the sets that are known and that come with instructions.

Berny... have you seen my chipping habits??? I'm lucky if I get to eat!! (Brie pays for that!!) Everything else goes to this damn hobby of ours!! I try to get out!! It pulls me back in!! Lol

I remember I was quite obsessed with the original Space theme Lego sets from the early 1980s when I was a kid. Enjoyed the hell out of those.

i had the two space ships with the lunar base plates. Galaxy explorer and the other one.

I have been buying lego trains for four or five years. It started way back when by purchasing the blue 60052 train.

We bought it the day after thanksgiving, brought it home, and called the neighbor boy over, who was probably nine at the time, to ask if he would help me put it together. Once done, it went around the tree.

As I accumulated trains, I always wanted to clean out the workshop and put together a big layout. So here is it today. Thank you for all the housecleaning buyers, as I now have room for trains on the floor.

I also have a train around the tree, and I will post pictures later.

Just one small new set (so far) this Christmas. I really enjoy the LEGO City line so every year I get one or more. The City sets are going to be awesome for my boy too once he’s older. I got my wife a LEGO Friends set as she wanted one to do while I was doing LEGO this Christmas.

Great thread.

I should still have my Pirates, Knights and Space themed Lego from the 90's at my parents' place.

My son loves Lego but only building sets per the instructions, then he puts them on a shelf in his room. This is the opposite of how I grew up with lots of random Lego scrounged from garage sales, and we'd dump the box on the floor and start building. I've tried to introduce him to this method with limited success. I recently got a huge box of random Lego from my friend (he gave them to me for free but I got him a bottle of whisky and he was happy), and the box just sat there and my kids didn't want to build anything...

My daughter recently got a toad, and I took a big cardboard box and made a "playground" for her and proposed that we build some stuff for her to climb on using the box of Lego. That finally generated some interest! I built the little house/stairs in the back and my son built the stairs in the middle. Not much, but it's a start, and the toad actually had fun climbing on stuff.

it was the same for me as a kid - i loved legos, and i spent countless hours refining the same double-decker airplane design over and over. in hindsight though, it's hard to deny i would have appreciated an instruction manual for the ultimate double-decker airplane design!

Made some changes to our Lego town. Some older pics at the beginning of the thread. Biggest change was the shortening of the elevated platform making room for modulars on the lower level and the addition of a tunnel, tiki bar, and dock expansion for the old fishing store. We have also added lighting kits to the palace cinema and detectives offices. Pics do not do justice to the lighting kits, on the pricey side but happy with the results. Looking forward to another expansion of Ninjago city and wrapping a CMF project we have been working on.

lego was great. when i got older i found out about brickarms, which are guns made for lego figures. they're awesome!

Still available for sale. They are sorted into batches by shape and function. They represent a collection that has been accumulated over decades. I can guarantee that the contents can build all the following sets because I have all the original instruction booklets. And that only represents maybe half of the bricks available. I'm not sure what the total weight is, but probably around the vicinity of 50 pounds.

Price drop 20% to US$1200 plus any cost of shipping, probably by freight or courier. This price reflects only a fraction of the cost of purchasing these sets in used condition, with no extra cost for the thousands and thousands of extra bricks and minifigure parts included in this bulk sale. Opportunity of a lifetime!

Extra special deal for Vancouver BC locals or those willing to get here to pick it up: I will include the shelving and plastic bucket sorting system that this entire collection has been stored in for free as well.
