The Walking Dead (4 Viewers)

I think Darryl is untouchable. He's the one person who might get people to stop watching if he died. Btw, the actor who plays Aaron does some great impressions. If you have a chance check him out on YouTube.
I don't disagree about Daryl. He's unlikely. And yes, Ross Marquand is awesome!

Haven't watched it yet, but I'd lean towards Abraham being the victim. They have done a LOT of build-up and focus on his character this season, and it just seems to fit.

Would have been fun if he'd held Lucille to Carls head and made Rick choose for him (five seconds to name a name or Carl takes the hit).

I took from Talking Dead that the cast wrapped up filming without knowing who wasn't coming back.

Interesting you say that because Robert Kirkman supposedly wanted to give Rick a Sophie's Choice moment in the comics, but decided against it. I thought it would have translated well to the show.

And you are correct in that no one on the cast knows who gets the bat since it isn't filmed yet. Once it films in like June or so, the filming spoilers will probably reveal the victim (though it would be tough to replicate the cold weather from that scene in Atlanta in June). Maybe it is filmed. Hmmm

A random post I read that I thought was interesting. From a marketing perspective, who appears in the trailers for season 7 without giving away anything? Father Gabriel? Judith? Spencer? Tobin? Morgan and Carol?

Was it you Ronoh who called it that Negan wouldn't make an appearance until the end of the episode. That they wouldn't show who died?

Again, the best fighters leave all at once to help one member of the group (granted pregnant member). Then lets take the vehicle that gets 5 mpg. Good call. I get comfort for the sick/pregnant maggie. Survival is kind of key?

It wasn't a bad episode over all. Kind of boring until the end.

We know it's not Rick or Carl based on Negans statement immediately before the first hit.

Agreed. Technically, they are the only 2 who can definitively be excluded. I believe you can be pretty confident to exclude any of the women (Rosita, Maggie, Sasha). It's down to Abraham, Daryl, Glenn, Aaron, and Eugene, to which people are leaning towards Abe.

Once anything "comes out" I would suggest giving people who want to know a link to the spoilers site rather than posting it here with spoiler tags. Once something is in the thread, hidden or not, it tends to find its way out even in seemingly harmless comments.

For example, initially I was 90% sure going in to this episode that we would know who got the bat. But even though he said he'd not read up on any spoilers I was 99% sure it would be a mystery as soon as Anthony said the words "side bet?" ;)

I've never understood the attraction to spoilers... I flat out dont want to know. Others may disagree but my personal feeling is they should be left entirely out of this thread.

I agree. Normally I wouldn't want to know. Since I don't plan on watching the series anymore I don't care if I hear this spoiler or not. If its a show that I like, I do not want to know the spoiler at all. It ruins the show for me. Same with a sporting event. If I'm recording it and I find out the final score I cannot watch it. Its ruined.

Like Anthony said, Abraham is purely speculation and in no way based on spoilers of any kind. I included the spoiler tag last week in the event that anyone was interested in learning definitively that the episode ended on a cliffhanger (I cannot send the link because it is a forum that is private). My apologies for that. I will avoid mentioning any spoilers going forward.

And I can understand the desire to not want to know spoilers. Like anything, it's not for everyone. My poker buddies look at me like I'm batshit crazy when they find out that I spent $3,000 on poker chips in the last 2 months. We buy chips because it is fun to search them, build upon sets, make giant chip pyramids, sell to new chippers, etc. Walking Dead spoilers (for me at least) aren't just about going to a site, reading them, then beating everyone over the head with them. I know people in Atlanta who camp out for days to snap photos of who is on set which days, then triangulate that with which episode is being filmed to try to infer who dies when. Not even just who dies, but who is injured, what set changes occurred on which days, who posted what on social media (then removed it), etc. There's an entire sub-culture of people who thrive on putting together that puzzle, just like the members of this community will scour the Internet and pay exorbitant amounts of money for chips that few people outside this community really care about.

tl;dr - Spoilers, though an interesting hobby for some, aren't for everyone. I won't post them again.

Just got to the point where they meet Negan, good grief I thought the writing couldn't get any worse.

"Hey man, you killed some of our people who were trying to kill you, and then we sent more people to kill you and you killed them too. Man, that's not cool man, that's so not cool"

What the bitch?!?! :cautious:

Do you hear people talk in real life? Is it necessary for someone in control of a large band of thugs years into the zombie apocalypse to be highly articulate? :D

By the little weve seen so far I think he is doing a great job being Negan.

I'm trying to remember if anyone was wearing a red shirt when they beamed down to planet Negan.

After watching this, I was sad that I have Fear TWD to hold me over. I don't comment in this thread often and just scan new posts quickly, but after re-watching part of that season finale of Fear, I remembered why I was less of a fan of it. You don't want to know these people, they are self-centered assholes. I wish they had the kid in school who wanted his knife on the show, he was more interesting of a character than drug kid, or any of the other kids. I probably will watch it, but unlike TWD, I will not watch it live or even weekly, probably save up 3 of them and binge for 1.5 hours, skipping commercials and boring parts.

One grievance I have with Fear season finale, the dead are at the chain link fence, the army is shooting full auto weapons at them, and there is not blood and body parts flying everywhere, it is like they are shooting blanks at 10 feet distance. Come on guys, spend a few bucks on effects or don't shoot a scene with so many shots and no one even dropping to the ground.

I still enjoy TWD for mindless television with some story, and Fear will just be mindless. At least it is not a reality show with dancers, singers, or watching people working.

sigh.....

I'm in agreement with everything you said. I felt like with TWD, at least some of the characters were interesting in the beginning. Many fans even prefer the earlier episodes due to the character development. However, for FTWD, the main cast is generally unlikable. Maybe we've become so jaded with the zombie craze that we've lost our ability to relate with normal people as they encounter the dead. Or maybe we watched only 6 episodes of FTWD and just need to give it more of a chance. Kirkman said on the Talking Dead that the people are on a boat for much of season 2, so there will be a lot of learning about the characters. We'll see...

P.S. I met the actor who played the kid with the knife in school at a Walker Stalker Con and he was cool. Definitely needed more of him on the show.

Aaron would be such a cheap way out and would have zero impact on their fans. Eugene I think would be next in line for less impact. I think people generally like Abraham's character, so it's a way to kill off someone that will produce a reaction from their viewers without taking away the biggest names in their roster that some viewers would revolt over (and I'd recommend viewers who are like that should probably avoid Game of Thrones....)

Exactly. That's why Abraham seems most likely because fans will give enough of a shit to be mad, but not enough of a shit to stop watching. Aaron would be way too cheap and Eugene is not far behind

And what's with the complete 180 flips on multiple characters?

Carol goes from threatening a child to being afraid to kill grown adults trying to kill her.

Gabriel is suddenly willing to kick arse for the lord

and Morgan has gone from crazy psycho killer to peacenik to emptying his gun into the guy threatening Carol.

Also...............

I think After Carol and Morgan's interaction with the stray wolf which they debated on killing, they started turning into each other. They're two of the most empathetic characters so it'd make sense that they might co-opt each others attributes. I honestly though Carol was full of shit when she first didn't want to kill anyone but I guess they're rolling with it. I'm glad Morgan finally killed someone.

They did this with Rick and Daryl this season as well, with each one of them deciding the other one had been right, and switching to their viewpoint. Daryl with "I should have killed him" and Rick now saying "no, you shouldn't have"

The writers must've went to the M. Night Shamalyan school, WHAT A TWIST!

This. And on top of that, Abe said he already was ready to have kids. So, time to take him out after that soft discussion. My money's on Abraham.

I would bet my money on Carol and Morgan wiping the whole Negan's gang away on next season. Since Rick f*cked up the whole enchilada,
someone has to do something. Rick will be unavailable to do anything for a while. He will just swim in a self-pity at least half of next season.
So it's up to Carol and Morgan, now turned into real killers, with their newly found horsemen friends (oh yes, methinks there is more of them
out there). Carol will wipe out most of Negan's gang at some point during next season. And Morgan, while being a well trained blunt weapon
wielder, will have Negan to taste some Lucille in the end of the season.

Ship it.
Onto season 8.
