Things That Are Bullsh*t (7 Viewers)

It’s a military industrial complex funded with a metric ton of capital. The leagues and facilities make billions. So do the doctors who treat 12 year old with torn ACLs and MCLs. Look at the tourney sponsors. All doctors and rehab. It’s a travesty and one day these kids are going to be 50 year olds who need walkers and will be wondering why their parents allowed this to happen.
I agree. When I was a kid, we played football or soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring and maybe kickball or whiffleball over the summer (though we were more likely riding our bikes all over town, looking for trouble.) But these days, the kids play their sport during the sport's traditional season. Then they play the same sport for a club/travel team in the off season. And then, during whatever time that's left, they go to camps, clinics, and clubs to get further reps/practice on that same sport. They're using the same muscles in the same way all year round, and its causing injuries. My anectdotal evidence? My daughter plays varsity volleyball. Lots of girls popping advil (vitamin A) before every game. That shouldn't be normal for 17 year old girls.

Unless they get pee tested, I'd be willing to bet that there are many that are popping a lot more than Avdil.

Ha, well they're definitely all juiced up on drinks they buy at the coffee shop, which are energy drinks poured over ice with extra flavor syrup mixed in (for twice the price of the already over-priced energy drink.) So hopefully that's it?

Sure, that's what the kids are doing on their own.

I'm thinking about psychotic parents who believe their most-awesomest-kid-in-the-whole-wide-world is going to get a full scholarship (roughly $120,000). How about the deluded that think their 15 year old boy can absolutely go pro. "I've coached kids for 5 years, and my Jimmy is the best there ever was."

A little more HGH in your Cheerios, sweetie?

There is no shortage of delusional parents in youth sports - lol.

Equally, there are abundant clubs and teams more than willing to take the $5-$8k/annually so the parents can say little Jimmy plays travel ball.

What’s really happening is little Jimmy’s team and the 3 other filler teams are funding the clubs primary team and coaching staff - lol.

After my son's hospitalization in April 22, a fractured foot (mine) the following month, cancelled vacations and a catastrophic end to the year in terms of professional and personal life, I was was just starting to feel better and then, 1 week before we were due to go on vacation, a big cyst appeared and requires surgery. As you might have guessed, vacation is cancelled for the 2nd year in a row.

Go and explain to the kid a week before departure that we won't be going anywhere again this year. Parents needed it too... :(

Customer's who know so little about their system that my phone keeps blowing up. I'm happy to help but this is getting out of hand. (That's professional talk for this is BS!)

I guess I should clarify: no damage and nothing appears to be stolen.
A neighbor called in some suspicious activity and the cops found a stolen car from a nearby area. Then they were patrolling while towing the car, so they knew the crew was stranded. They stopped in front of my house because they saw my wife’s interior light on. Probably just missed them so they rang my doorbell to see if I saw anything. There’s woods behind my house so my house became the staging point. K-9 unit caught 2 guys down the block. The cops “left” until the rest came out of hiding 2 hours later and arrested 4 more at the front of the neighborhood.

I live in a somewhat well-off town so they run crews out of Camden to come down to towns around here. I forgot to lock the car when we came home from the beach.

Unlucky they picked our car, we don’t keep any valuables and it’s a minivan so I don’t think the resale value is worth hotwiring.

Probably scarred my 11 year old waking him up to make sure he took his switch and AirPods out of the car
Not bullshit: 11 year old learning a valuable life lesson about leaving valuables in a car, plus learning that while you can trust individuals you cannot trust all of humanity - and it didn't cost you (or him) anything more than a couple hours of sleep.

His reflection yesterday: "I kind of feel bad for those people that have to break into cars. Their life must be pretty bad"

I guess he isn't scarred at all.

Exactly. Mother of God. Making it for publication, I move a figure, on page 2, 0.3 inches to the right and BOOM a figure from page 6 comes up behind it like Michael Fucking Myers.
All that time formatting and getting permission to use one awesome figure from an journal article, just to wake up to Reviewer 1 clinically roasting that figure because he has a personal vendetta against the professor who drew it up, forcing you to spend hours drawing another figure which is basically the same thing.

I am still upset.

100%. I picture check raising Reviewer 2 with the nuts lol.

It was my first paper adapted from my honors year as well.. Could you imagine being a mature, 60 year old adult just shitting on a barely 21 year old's work just because of one figure? God the amount of dickwads in academia is staggering beyond belief.

To be fair, he probably makes similar, unreasonable demands of clouds.

You people are bullshit. I just wanted to "complete" my set. I'm realizing that is not possible. What does "complete" even mean? I just realized I have three of the classics color inlays for $500 and $1k. I'm debating on "catching them all". Effffffff. Just look at these beauties!!!!

Complete is playable to YOUR definition of what works for you.

Anything is possible. ;)

Can 100% believe that lol, and they're smiling. They nod and think fondly with rose-tinted glasses about the much easier academic market they had to traverse to get to full professorship.
