Things That Are Bullsh*t (7 Viewers)

When a longtime 100% feedback member works out a deal for a single chip. They say they have a couple chips and I offer to buy two. They send pics of each side of two chips and say if they look good send payment to xxxx. One chip has two visible flaws and I ask if there's another chip to pick from or I'd like to just buy the one that looked good. They reply they'll send pics of some of the best chips they have along with flak for being picky. I once a day or every other day checked in for first few days to tell them sorry for hassle and I'd buy the single good one and send payment if they don't have time. Haven't heard back since Sunday.
Pretty sure they ghosted me for being picky and now won't even sell me the one good chip. Do I send payment to maybe get a response and hope I'm not out the money too? They've been online or posted every day or couple times a day so is any response at all just too much of an ask?
Don't send the money. If he ghosted you then take it as a red flag and a blessing.

There are two sides to every story and the other side hasn't shared, so reserving judgment.

That said...

1. Isn't today Wednesday? If you followed up on, say Sunday, Monday, and today, that's a bit much. Maybe they just didn't get around to finding the chips yet.
2. It's also possible that they're no longer interested in selling to you, which is their right, though it'd be nice if they told you.

Either way, there's no deal that both sides have agreed to yet, so don't send payment.

I hate ghosting. What are they, 10? Just tell me to fuck off instead. That’s what I do.

Are you even really a true PCFer if you haven't experienced a longtime member ghosting you, after they reached out to you and you simply said "yes thanks" or "how much"?

Don’t forget when they issue an “update” so you can’t buy a used copy and they add 3 pages to a 200 page textbook
Also, rearrange a few chapters without changing any content, and slightly modifying exercises so that they don't match the previous year.

Honestly, fuck those guys. College is expensive enough without this bullshit.

I mean, if we're being real, college is bullshit.
Disagree there. While it's definitely not for everyone, higher education is incredibly important. But it shouldn't just be a profit machine to milk students of every last penny.

I probably should stop, my "this is going to get political" alarms are going off.

It’s what you put into it, not that little piece of paper.
I went when I was older with kids. I didn’t party, I didn’t get a liberal arts degree, I got a degree in something that employers wanted and I studied and learned forwards and backwards and it paid off big for me.

It’s not for everybody, no matter how easy they make the loans.

Bittersweet bullshit LOL. At least they arrived.

Requests to update your information for an alumni publication that is really a guise for taking a survey and buying a $400 publication/travel bag/sweat/shirt-shirt package.

Things that are bullsh*t
Me.

Why you ask?

I got the brilliant idea to make custom spot sizes so that my chips would be unique. Just spent the last few hours roughening the edges and realigning, since none of the templates have matching edge strips... because I made custom spots.

I would never defend terrible sports parents. But the fact that they system breeds them should come as no surprise to anybody.
I’m going to spare myself the whole rant, but club sports and travel teams are a full blown industry designed to extract a lot of money from parents’ pockets.
My triplets played a lot of sports. Mainly club soccer and volleyball. It's very hard to get recruited if you don't play club. I've seen it all and it sucks. Spent a ton of money, but my kids did get a couple of scholarships which I'm thankful for now.

1: Telling me in PM, after I inquired about some chips…. “I won’t be selling or buying any chips for the foreseeable future”. And then a few days later listing racks of chips to “clear space”

2: Listing chips at ridiculously high prices, listing gets no action, and then marking them as “sold”

Seems fishy, like who paid that? Seems like market manipulation to show XYZ sold for excessively stupid pricing.

[gets off soap box, walks off stage]
