THIS is a TRK chip (2 Viewers)

Can someone explain it in simple terms ( very simple please) how a for profit website
can take someone’s photos. Whether submitted or not
Alter them slightly
Then claim copyright?

Thanks.

I’ll take my answer off the air.
Nope - is not possible - lol  :ROFLMAO:

Did you require them to submit their information and then allow them to remain 'anonymous' on the Chip Guide, or did you just take the submission anonymously?
Submitters have an option to remain anonymous.

Yup. Just found that out about 10 minutes ago. Consider me surprised.
Just to clarify, the following are not TRK chips either. They do, however, belong to their respective US and US-based ChipGuides (two VERY separate entities):

I just can't take any of this seriously.

Chip Guide is a nice resource, but this "we own your stuff because someone sent it to us and they want to remain anonymous because they stole it from you" crap is laughable.

Is anyone taking this seriously?

I haven't taken it seriously since April of 2022:

And @ChipGuide has chosen to remain anonymous here, refusing to answer any questions regarding identity or actual authority. I'm starting to see a connection....

Sure!
I was beginning to wonder if it posted, they were quick to answer legitimate questions, must have deemed mine illegitimate, Sorry officer i don't answer questions! I have rights! I plead the 5th amendment because you asked me my name...... hahahaha Feels just like that

FWIW I have posted pictured of chips at The Chip Board and they have shown up on the Chip Guide with no credit.

Most recently the Park MGM $1 hotstamp.

Here is my Chip Board post-

Here is the Chip Guide entry using the rightmost chip from my picture with no credit.

I know there are others.
You might want to contact http://www.pixsy.com for a timely resolution of said image theft.

Your lack of responsibility betrays your expectations.

Chip Guide might hold itself accountable to the same requirements as it expects from others, if it would hope for credibility.

I'm familiar with ChipGuide, though I've maybe browsed 2 or 3 times. I'm not familiar with the politics of yesteryear and I try to stay out of that stuff.

I was at zero, but you've came here and dug a hole; After reading through this thread alone I really don't understand why you would create an account here. It doesn't seem you want to be part of this community, but rather police it. It seems like you just want control or gratitude here where others have built something.

It seems and maybe this is JUST my perception, you want to have some sway or power or influence over something related to poker chips. Maybe its just the reach for drama in an effort to stay relevant as the hobby has grown and seemed to have passed you by.

The person behind @ChipGuide has alienated people that would help the Chip Guide site, and are pillars of our community.

Please start over, join the community, maybe Post why you are here, what you want to accomplish and what this hobby means to you. I'd like to hear how you got started and your journey. Don't expect alcaldes that aren't due, try building rapport with the members here, it seems like you might be able to help others with photos and lead by example, by posting photos and citing sources.

personally I try to give credit or cite sources, but I also try to give opinions and help others, and foster a positive experience here.

I sincerely hope you take pause and change directions, we still have room for more betterment of all things in this hobby!

I think this was all started by the lawyers on this forum as a way to stir up some business. I'm scared. I even went and threw away the rest of the potato ch_ps that were in the pantry. I don't want to get busted!

As i asked @BamaT8ter, whats the difference between a carp and a lawyer.

reference point: this joke is my 2 lawyer brothers favorite.

That was just light hearted fun, hopefully didn't truly offend anyone, but, yeah, best not to offend the profession that msy stand between you and financial ruin.

Hey @ChipGuide i was nice to you earlier, so please understand I’m not taking a shot, this is a serious question. Any idea why when I’m on this screen on my iPhone:

And I click on a state, I constantly get this screen? It’s been happening for a while. Like maybe years.
