Actually, the running joke is that in all the sporting world, baseball players are the worst at fighting... That being said, I'm pretty sure they could whoop up on any 20 GOLFERS! (which IMnshO is NOT a sport, unless you're playing Speed Golf... )

I can understand why some people say it's boring, but if you have ever played it or just understand all of the nuances that change situations with every pitch it makes you think and is more enjoyable. I played it from third grade through high school. Go Dodgers!

I think The Price is Right is a better sport than almost anything out there. The players play preliminary games, then go head to head at the end for the grand prizes. They also have a cumulative year long season for the quiz sport Jeopardy.

Was at "The Bat Flip" game... Game 5 of the ALDS. Absolutely, hands down, the best sporting event I've ever attended.

Ball ricochets off bat when Russ Martin tries to throw the ball back to pitcher. Odor able to score from 3rd breaking a 2-2 tie in the 7th - crowd goes insane, beer cans rain down from from upper deck. Play suspended.

Elvis Andrus commits THREE errors pretty much back to back to back in the bottom of the same inning and is clearly shaken by noise / nerves. Noise inside the closed dome is bonkers. The place is literally shaking.

Joey Bats steps to the plate and launches a go ahead home run... Pandemonium ensues. What a ride.

I never even saw the bat flip live... too busy watching the ball / celebrating!!!

I was one of the two Rangers fans at game 1. Memorable game for sure. Definitely different environment. Isn’t game 5 the one they were chunking beers from the upper stands, heads of poor fans below good luck! Hope you didn’t take part in that nonsense.

Was also at the Toronto game (in TX) the next year, the one where Joey Bats got his face rearranged. Good times.

I remember it as Bautista squared up for a “hold me back” half-fight, and Rougy had a different idea.

That 2014 series in Toronto was electric though. Glad you also experienced it. A 20+ year playoff drought with drunk hockey hooligans makes for good baseball.

I don’t know that it matters. But I guess I think it should have both a competing aspect as well as being physically demanding. If it only has the first, I’d consider it a game or an activity. I can name a few I would consider sports:

Football (either kind)

Yes

Hockey

Mmm hmm

Tennis

Okay okay

Running

What? Running is what you do to get away from something. Or, in my case, it’s what I do to ensure I’m first at the buffet.

Basketball

Okay alright

Martial arts

Ehhhyhy

Cross country skiing

For someone in Sweden, this is equivalent to saying getting the groceries is a sport. It’s not even a game or a recreational activity. It’s what you have to do to get somewhere in winter.

Cycling

Pedaling is a sport now?

Basically everything but American sports like basketball and baseball, then?
