8V Compression Clay Blowout Sale (6 Viewers)

As far as how well they hold up. I've had 3-4 chips break a chunk off around an edge spot over the 7 years. Not the crumbling I've seen people post, I don't believe any of those are 8V's.

Regarding the posts in this and other threads about durability; I think Tater's testimonial does enough to assuage any concerns I had. 3-4 chips lost in 7 years is not really an issue. I'll have enough extras for replacements anyway. :D

I'm thinking this would make a sick inlay background.... Thoughts?

It was brought to my attention again that these won't fit in normal racks. Can someone who ordered test them in some racks and provide feedback for the community? I'm going to need lots of racks they fit these bad boys!

PGI used to have racks that these fit nicely in. Perhaps ABC now has those racks or the ownership of the molds to make more racks. Maybe this sale has generated enough need to have more racks made.

Racks will be hard to find. Here is a link to the 8V rack thread from CT.

They were a PITA to get racks to fit, barrel sizes are just shy of 71mm. PGI did a run of the only ones I found that would fit so GLWthesearch. Unless Gene got some of them in the leftover inventory from PGI. Some of the cheapo generic racks you see on eBay & Amazon might fit but I wouldn't know for sure. Others may have found some that will work.

@ABC Gifts and Awards do you have any of those?

An example of a labeled set that we're working on!

Makes me want to re-think my cash set colors. :ROFLMAO:

5¢ grey
25¢ black
50¢ blue
$1 brown
$5 pink

T25 green
T100 white
T500 violet
T1000 brown
T5000 red
T25000 pink

I like the idea of getting blacks into the cash game set in a common denom. They're beautiful chips. Will have to wait until I actually have them to be sure.

Another productive work day. Someone help with these damn labels. I really like the bird one and the first two. I was thinking like the Pillage and Plunder set to have one side of the chip have a dark inlay and the other a light inlay. I really need a better skull and swords clip art. Something less cartoonish and more like the bad ass one Ronoh used

love what you've done with the black label but that off white label just has that extra touch of "treasure map" feel to it.... those two get the vote, not sure where the heck you're going with the bird.

Naw, the ONE chip is just one dolla. The FIVE chip is fi' dolla!

Ha! So backstory on that: Used in the micro game for those bust out of the main tourney. Ya'll know the drill. ~$10 buy-in and more of something to do while we drink beer and wait for the main game to end... than any kind poker of consequence.

Over the years, the betting dialog has become quite predictable:
--Small blind always limps in saying "What's a nickel anyway?"
--When some raises to a dollar there's generally bitching because everyone wants to limp in and drink, so its a running joke that the raiser says "A dollar to make you wusses (insert own expletive in place of wussie) holler."
-- We usually announce $5 bets as "fid-olla" per by rapper 50 Cent calling himself "Fidy"

Hence the set. Stupid, I know. But we're not the brightest crayons in the box.

RE the colors: I thought folks wouldn't like them as they are decidedly random and non-traditional. Was glad to see a couple people didn't hate 'em. :) Colors came about as reds and greens were sold out. I liked the brown and black, so built a random scheme from there. I sort a like the "change of pace-ness" for a micro set anyway. Don't think I'd go that way on a workhorse set though.

RE the art: Was inspired by those old fish prints and posters that have all the species with their common and latin names. Love those things. The fact that its a bit of a fish game too makes the theme even more appropriate.

OK, I'm pulling the trigger on this. This is what I am thinking

1,000 chips for a T20,000 freezeout with a maximum of 26 players. Basing it off of a tournament setup that @BGinGA gave me, and trending it forward to 1,000 chips, I've got

T25 275 chips
T100 275 chips
T500 125 chips
T1000 275 chips
T5000 50 chips

That gives me a total bank of 621,875 which covers 26 T20,000 stacks, plus coloring out the 25, 100 and 500's.

I definitely want to incorporate the brown, purple and pink chips, since I don't currently have those colors. Anybody got an idea, that doesn't include red and green, for a color progression using those three colors? Off the top of my head I am thinking
T25 - brown
T100 - pink
T500 - purple
T1000 - grey
T5000 - black

Thoughts?

I just ordered a 25k rebuy set.. starting blinds are 100/200. So I went with this breakdown.

T100 x 225 Black [10]
T500 x 225 Purple [10]
T1K x 125 Grey [4]
T5K x 125 Pink [3]
T25K x 75 blue [for re-entry]

Starting stacks are noted in [ ]

I am Probably going to leave the chips plain as blanks and use this as a bar game tourney set.
