Controversial Chip & Poker Opinions (38 Viewers)

There’s various settings I’ve previously misunderstood, and not sure what’s on paid. Quick question.

Is there a setting where you can just fully block people from view?

Blocked/ignored/etc., you still get notes in threads at both the bottom as well as in thread if someone quotes/replies to it/them.

Curious if there’s just a full ignore and not see any reference of them?

lol tell us you have no self control with saying the exact words. You just can’t stand not knowing what people are saying and you still read everyone’s posts, you just have an extra click to do it now. Funny as hell

Hang around long enough... sober up... you will change your mind.;)

I have had to sober up multiple times already since I wrote this.

I have been lurking on the forum for over 6 years.

Anyone who thinks a Shuffletech is too loud is either playing with a group that isn't very social/not having conversations OR on the autistic spectrum where noises really have an affect on them.
Sir I can be both autistic and it could be too loud at the same time.

I’d say you’re in the right place though. I’ve seen a shuffler used once - agreement across almost every single player was it was far too loud - and this was in a room with my loud ass (and multiple tables).

Shuffle tech may be quieter, no clue. I still want to play at a table with it built in, so I know if that’s my grail table or not.

I’ve only played at a table with a Shuffletech once, but having it built into the table didn’t seem to make it any quieter. It was useful having it there with a dedicated dealer though. Without a dedicated dealer I probably wouldn’t want it built in.

As far as the sound goes, I fall into the latter category of the original opinion so I guess technically it’s fine, but I was a little surprised at how loud it was. I got a little more used to it over time but continued to notice it all night.

100%. The having the shuffler out was nuts. I don’t mind noise, but we had to talk over it.

I’d mind it less if it was at a non social game, but at a social game where everyone’s chatting, multiple conversations, tv or music, and you want people’s verbal actions to be heard, having a constant on/off mechanical whirring no good.

That being said I obviously see the value, so looking forward to the first time I see/hear it in its best use case application.

They're loud. If you and your players don't mind, good for you. But it's pretty weak to say that anybody who doesn't agree with you is either autistic or antisocial. Should I make fun of you for being incapable of shuffling a deck of cards?

I mean it’s the controversial opinion thread so….I mean we should encourage controversial opinions!

Lol maybe he was a bit pointed, but everyone’s allowed to be wrong!

I just need him to toss into his table so I can go hear it.

So was it a Shuffletech? My whole thing is people are always saying the Shuffletech is too loud.

As far as built into the table Shuffletech it seems significantly louder to me. Mine is in a cart & 5 sides are muffled instead of escaping in all directions. I also strongly prefer it NOT on the table so my beautiful clay chips never hit the metal mounting plate or fall into the machine which I've seen too many times.

This is the "controversial opinions" but yes I can shuffle very well thank you. But make fun of me I can take it!!

Okay!

Guys who take extraordinary measures to address a product's shortcomings should be applauded for their craftiness. But that shuffler is hella loud.
Boom roasted.

I’m curious what is used to muffle the sound?
The best soundproofing is mass, like concrete.
I know it would be crazy heavy, but I would love to see how much quieter a shuffler is when dropped into some form of concrete cabinet or crate.

Well colour me autistic then, because that thing was loud af. I sold my Shuffletech and went back to the 2-deck shuffle behind method with my crew. I don't miss the Shuffletech at all.

The Nanuk style cases are horrible.

They aren’t good for display, and they are unnecessarily bulky for storage or travel. Use a birdcage or racks for display, and a briefcase style for travel (ideally without the giant wasted space for a deck of cards and a dealer button).
Okay. Let's test your briefcase vs my Pelican case when accidentally dropped.

Bud Jones chips look and feel terrible.

Now I’ll admit I haven’t had too much experience with possibly all that bud jones has to offer, but I’ve played enough in the California casinos to put me off them completely.

That is controversial. I have a BJ set on my to obtain list. Interesting and bold statement sir. Well done. Since I play mixed molded sets it’s no wonder I would like Bud’s. Be well.

Hardly "controversial" since 80% of PCFers hate Bud Jones chips.
:vomit: "Suction"
:vomit:"Can't shuffle"
:vomit:"Heavy"
:vomit:"Ugly"
Good! More for me at cheaper prices! ;)

Lucky for me I belong to the 20% of the 20% who enjoy using Casino-grade Plastic

Only thing is there just lesser of them up for Sales compared to Clay and also very often the rare few plastics classified pricing is very over-priced

Even after taking some home and cleaning them for collectors sake, I don’t like em. A bit of an eye sore and don’t feel good to play around with.
