Ones should be white, and white chips should be ones.
I tend to agree, but then I see this gorgeous sight.

Anyone else have a hard time with the indentations, color bleeding, color noise (speckles/texture), and bumps on the edges of Tina's cards mold chips? The samples I had from an earlier run made me think these wouldn't be huge issues, but when I had a whole set of cards molds on hand I couldn't help but focus on all of the weird grooves/bumps on the rolling edges and the poor color consistency.

You'll probably get a better response to this if you post in one of the cards mold threads. Not really on topic in this thread.

I posted it here because it seems like the consensus forum-wide is that cards mold chips are preferable to other alternatives in that price range (like BRPro ceramics). Seems like I never see any conversation about how disappointing they can be in person

How about that TRK chips look great, many have an interesting history but are just too tiny and feel "off" to make me want to actually own any... Well that is not entirely true, I do want to keep my sample set so I can be reminded of why I don't like 'em.

BRPros cost something like twice as much as card mold chips and are noticibly higher quality. I don’t think that’s a controversial opinion.
But I’m glad you said what you said because I’ve only handled a sample stack of cards molds and I thought they were fine. Based on what you say, I’d want to reevaluate.

You have any pics/examples? I've heard very few drawbacks besides the occasion spinner so this is news to me.

Yeah here's a shot of the Mapes ("Mares") cards molds tributes. The edge bumps and grooves are extremely apparent on most of the chips, but they are especially visible on the blue, grey, and red chips.

I also happen to have two sets of New China Club cards mold samples (one from Tina and one from Anita) that really show the color consistency/noise issue:

Tina's chips are on top. Unfortunately, few people seem to want to order from Anita so cards mold group buy runs tend to end up with that fuzzy texture.

I agree they are not perfect, but the biggest reason people (like myself) orders card molds is because of the price. Value for money is better than pretty much anywhere else as long as you like ceramics.

That's completely understandable. I probably just came into it overhyped with unrealistic expectations. I totally see why people would be enthusiastic about them, it's just easy to miss these drawbacks when planning a set and looking at things through rose colored glasses.

Bud Jones V7 are better than Paulson...

/me gets ready to dodge thrown objects...
You best just hope the objects being thrown at you aren't tiny slugs of lead! :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:

Think about what a boring world it would be, and how much MORE expensive Paulsons would be if everyone wanted only Paulson chips.

I’m just trying to convince myself guys! I’ve finally finished everything and have no poker chip related stuff to do. I can’t just start building another set straight away. I need to give it at least…2 weeks?

At least then I can tell the boss I tried to exercise some amount of self control before admitting defeat!
