COVID and live poker, again (2 Viewers)

Not only am I flirting with you, but I think COVID is now an endemic disease we'll be forced to live with moving forward. The best we can do is take the proper medical precautions and do our best to help protect our most at risk. I plan to play live poker, but stay home when I'm sick and do what I can within reason to avoid getting sick.
That's solid material. Glad it finally came to fruition.
I'm still waiting for an opportunity to use my "dating during COVID" material.

Anybody who frames topics of health science as "political" has already shown their prejudices.
Viruses don't give a f*** about your politics, religion, social status, gender identity, or whether you felt the chips you buy. They only want to spread their contagion as wide as possible. And anybody who knowingly and willingly helps that along cares deserves to be called out.

Trying to answer the question... I have just accepted that more or less once a year I catch flu type symptom.
No wether it s called a cold, COVID, flue or whatever it doesn't matter to me. I keep living my life.
If I'm sick or feeling sick I stay home. If I really have to go outside for groceries for example I will wear a mask and avoid spreading saliva drops in the air.

I avoid COVID by hardening my organs and immune system with laughably large amounts of alcohol.
Personally, I find that approach works better with blood borne illnesses such as flaming hepatitis, Ebola, and Rabies.

Covid, flu, cold, or whatever it is.. if you're sick stay your ass at home. Don't come over to potentially get me or other players (and our familes) sick. Don't be a jerk. Of course this only applies to home games.
For live poker it's a bit riskier as there's plenty of people you see there coughing, or seeming not fully well playing regardless. Same with going to a casino. Not sure how to manage that otherwise avoiding anyone seemingly sick.

I mean. If I've been calling bait on this thread, it would be unfair if I didn't get myself.
I'm saying if you want to post a bunch of jokes and memes or whatever, you shouldn't do it in a thread where people are actually having a discussion.
I think it's pretty straightforward. Pre-COVID and post-COVID ... if you are sick, stay home. If you are hosting the game and are sick, cancel.
If the fear of COVID - or any other communicable virus - keeps you from playing live poker, so be it.
Discussion was gonna go south into politics. Discussion is still active between awesome gifs. Post starter @Taghkanic isn't offended (I PMed and apologized, he lol'ed). Post hasn't slogged into politics.
I think the community is okay.

Okay I'll amend my statement about the entire community. I don't like the derailling going on in this thread. I caught covid at a poker game recently, so I found the topic interesting. Also I was curious to see if anybody else had opinions about Ike Haxton's masks. But all the derailing seemed to be derailing the conversation. I don't like it when people decide for themselves that other people's conversations are over and that it's time to have a free for all.

I don’t think anyone disagrees with the point that not going to games when you know or suspect you are sick solves 99% of the problem.
No one is arguing for going to games sick.
Is there more discussion needed on that topic, or shall we dive into collecting DNA from each other before exhanging gaming tokens? I’m fine with it, as long as I get to first.
