in for 600-800 at this price

voted for the Forum because of the mockups (which look awesome-need bigger denoms) , but would entertain a name change there too

The Alehouse?
The Parlor?
The Palace? (maybe too close to the original).

I could get behind anything with a western theme too, but I realize most don't care for that design.

Like ******* Saloon/Pub too

Joker's Pub?
Joker's Saloon?
I kind of liked that forum mockup as well and agree if the denom was larger and it all balanced out those would be great but this is just one persons opinion.

I'm another one that's out if The Forum is the winner. My opinion shouldn't matter for much since it's doubtful that I'm in at all for multiple other reasons, and if I'm in at all it will only be for a 500-600pc set. Of the ones listed, though, The Forum, Waterworld, and Great Lakes Club all would cause me to abstain. All the others I'd consider.

The Forum and PCF ceramic set are totally different IMO.

The Forum, as already stated, is more of a roman theme. Not a direct association with PCF.

Ruling out Forum, simply because the PCF chips have been done is odd to me, but hey, suum cuique.

See what I did there? Used Latin to add support for the Roman-themed chips.

I do not want to sway folks by posting the mockup here. If you are interested in seeing it you can go to http://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/cpc-hot-stamp-forum-tourney-chip-designs.11448/ and look at the first post.

This was done by @kmccormick100 so I hope he does not mind me posting the link here.

My thought are those that saw this are the ones that voted for it due to it being different and in no way implies it is a PCF design.

I was out if it was forum but after seeing that mockup Ive changed my mind. Thats awesome. Wouldnt make me think of PCF in any way whatsoever.

That is why I wanted folks to see the mockup. I think with some tweaks it is a nice look. That being said I love the PCF community but I would not want a custom set that was for PCF other than what was already made as ceramics. Those are nice chips and wish I had a set.

I like how The Forum would be a subtle tie in to this "forum" group buy as stated in my earlier post, but make no mistake the reason I love the Forum is because of the mock up posted above. I think it's great and definitely makes me think of a Roman theme before PCF.

I respect everybody's opinions 100%, just clarifying that for me the Forum tie in to PCF is way more a happy bonus than the main draw.

Finally read the whole op! I'm in for 800-1k, depending on design. As I said in the other thread, I quite like the pepper design, just needs a new name (not Waterworld, wtf?!? :) Thanks for organizing this so far, David.

I think that we should have spit-balled a few more naming options before putting up the poll, and then narrowed it down to the most popular ideas.

The OP said we can add names. This by no means was a definitive list and should not be taken that way. The OP does state we would narrow them down. The names that were added to the list came from the original post by @kmccormick100

The original post started on April 1st.

Definitely down to hear some more names.
Once again.

If you read the original post this was not intended to be a definitive list! We can add and we will be narrowing it down. In one week we will take the top 2 or 3 and we can add more names that would have a global appeal.

I changed the OP and bolded the letters so it reads that you can add names. It may not have come across that way.

If you are going to add a name I would suggest that you add something that is more global and not regional because those will not have a mass appeal.

Although the jockey is sweet, I think this has to be on the a mold, horse head or csq. If we can find an appropriate name for the a mold or horsehead, then either one would be great (as someone mentioned, should fit the theme. Seems off, otherwise). Otherwise, csq fits pretty much anything, and is brilliant anyways (love my Rounders).

I wrote down a few that I don't think would sound like a repeat of a large group buy. But I'm pretty tired right now and may be forgetting some sets.

Such as: Saloon, parlor, alehouse, smokeshop, hall, gambling hall, pool hall, society, pub, café, ranch, shack, hostel, brothel

Definitely down to hear some more names.

Off the top of my head...
Valley of the Kings (Egyptian themed, but also card-centric)
The Floating Dragon (from Skyfall)
The Unlocked (bathroom) Door
Royal Ascot Jockey Club (fits the HHR mold theme)
Club Z (just saying...)
Denali's Summit (Highest point in the US).

That was the next step. Currently we are trying to come up with a theme/name

I'd like to keep refining the design with bigger denoms and a better font. I thought the Roman theme was a fun play off Caesars palace. A lot of these names have great potential, I think the minimalism of a grand cardroom style stamp is always nice as well. (y)

I really like where you were headed with The Forum mockup. I also love everything Roman. I was maybe planning a roman theme for my poker room.
See pic below what I started with. I think the feathery watchamacalits are distracting though. Almost like they would need a larger diameter to fit. Maybe it's just a tweak of moving them slightly.

Oh wait....

Club Z(y) thats a theme i could be in for. Said the guy with the last name that starts with Z:whistle: :whistling:

Do any of the molds we are considering have a recessed center. If not my concern is stacking issues. Anyone else have this concern?

Love the day-glo colors. At$1.10/chip, I'd be in for near 2000.

Forgive me, viewing only through tap-talk right now, I can't see all the mockups. I'll edit this post after I log in with my computer at home...
