Just putting this out there....who had the Bel Aire set and would they agree to a hotstamp version? Seems everybody loved that logo and could work quite well....

Thats an idea. Beg for AWESOME old design. I like where you going with that. Not fair to put someone on the spot like that though.

Other then the font the Forum mockup is not a Roman theme that I can see unless I'm missing something. What about The Colosseum or The Palace as a nod to Caesars Palace if you folks like the Roman font and theme?

Well I honestly don't feel I put the owner on the spot
personally i would be honoured if a group of people were interested in using my design for a group buy but if they say no oh well

Yeah, don't see the "on the spot" thing at all. Seems like a huge compliment! And, if he says "no", no one will blink an eye and move on to the next thing.

As an side, love the colors as they are and if the design is right I'm in for 1000+/-. That said, not a fan of the names that are getting the most traction with folks, so odds are that will keep me from partaking.

Some strange poll when the results add up to 220% :)
Not sure why it adds up to over 200% we might have to ask @Tommy.

I also see what you mean as to why group buys do not go over to well during beginning stages. We get some concepts or ideas posted and by the time a couple of days have past we could have at least 100 more ideas. Everybody has great additions and ideas but most of the time we all add what we want or like when in fact we should look at a more global appealing theme. That was the types of lists I was trying to put up, but obviously failed. As I said some great ideas but if we keep adding we will never get anywhere. I am almost sorry I started this thread. Not sure where to go from here!

Don't give up guys. I'm just throwing words out that can be mix n match, we can think about it a few weeks. In the end the first ones might win out, some who didn't like the 1st ones may come around to liking them after no other optiins come up. We're just spit ballin names to make sure we like what we chose. I already told my wife I'm buying these and got the green light. (She's getting a $20 guess shirt to make it even.)

So if I'm throwing words around it's just so we all know we've thought about it, participated in the conversation, gave suggestions, ruled shit out, and came to an overwhelming conclusion. Rome was not built in a day.

Is there a way we can take a snapshot of current vote results, remove the names that got the least votes, add some new ones and see if people change their votes?
Maybe do that 2, 3 times, and see in the end what the top 2 or 3 vote getters are after removing low performers and those votes being reassigned elsewhere.

I was fully expecting the name to take a few weeks tbh. I've never been involved at the beginning of a group buy, so if I'm derailing this somebody pm me and put me in my place. :)

What about Fun nite tournament?
Some others...
Black diamond room/club (b mold)
Savoy Room
Paradise Saloon
Club americana
One eyed jacks (twin peaks)
Pinnacle Club
Crescent Room
The Oceanside Club
Galaxy Club/Room
Regal Saloon
Regal Crown Club
Starlight Club/Lounge
Marina Bay Club

I like the One-Eyed Jack's idea - Jack on the front - denom on the back

IMHO, maybe set a time frame to submit names. After that, a single vote poll with a deadline with the submitted names. And so on with design, mold, colors. After David goes to work, back up the truck because here come the chips!

That is basically what we did form the original thread from April 1st. I took those names and started this thread to try and get the proverbial ball rolling.

Need deadlines for the name submissions, then post single vote poll with deadline to vote by. Top x number of names move on for final consideration.

I'd love to see it on the jockey mold, because of the fact I can't think of a personal reason to use that mold. Maybe something like the paddock lounge or almost anything relating to horse racing but I don't know much about horse racing.

Can we have a different stamp on each side, like a few other tournament chips I've seen?
So one side you have more real estate for a name, and on the other side you have Tournament/ncv.
say for example The Palace Poker Room:

Side 1:
Top = The Palace
Middle = denom
Bottom = Poker Room

Reverse side
Top = Tournament
Middle = denom
Bottom = No Cash Value

Maybe. But I think David said cpc were covering a lot of the costs anyways. He might not want to pay for even more dies.

Also I think one of the best ways of determining a name is having people commit to an amount for that name. Eg. You might get 10 who like name A but only order 500 ea. then get 7 who like name B but will order 1000 ea.

Anyway you do it I'm sure it'll work in the end. Thanks for your work mate.

Since CPC David said he could possibly cover 8 dies, it might still be possible to have a different stamp on each side.
With a goal of having more room for the name and maybe a logo. 6 dies would cover the main denoms: 5/25/100/500/1000/5000.
7th die would be the one for the NAME side of the chip. 8th denom would be either 25K or NCV.

Edited my example: The Palace Poker Room:

Side 1: Name stamp
Top = name: The Palace
Middle = logo
Bottom = establishment type: Poker Room

Side 2: Denom stamp
Top = Tournament
Middle = denom
Bottom = No Cash Value

Of course from a production point of view, I don't know if this would be a major pain in the ass.
CPC David could answer that.

The extra room for letters would make certain suggested names sound even more appealing:
-The Whiskey House Poker Room
-The Bourbon House Poker Room
-The Bootlegger's Gambling Den
-The Bootlegger's Gaming Saloon

The problem is it would mean many more die changes and potentially a lot more wastage. It would change the price.

Thanks. That was what I was afraid of.
I see why you posted the pic of the Pepper St chips.

Instead of tournament on the bottom, would there be room for another name?
Say something with same amount of letters like:

Top - Palace Poker
Bottom - Havana Room
Or
Havana Palace
Poker Room

There would, but you might be the only person that wanted it like that. Seemed like everyone in the original thread was happy with the layout because they wanted something to replace the Grand Cardroom's.

I would want both side of the chip to have the same stamp. Also is it really necessary to put NCV. If the stamp says tournament what's the point of also saying NCV. IMO that just clutters up the stamp more.

Also I think once we narrow it down to 2-3 names before opening up the final single vote thread perhaps we could get someone to design the 2-3 version so everyone can actually see what the designs would look like before they cast the final vote.

Voted for "The Forum" AINEC. I don't know what other people think of when they see/hear those words, but what comes to mind immediately for me is a place where persons of stature gather to socialize and discuss important (or not-so-important) issues in a civilized fashion - i.e. something we would all strive for our homes to be. The homage to the site is an added bonus.

Personally, anything with "club," "casino," "cardroom" etc. stretches my limits, as none of us (AFAIK) actually owns a casino/cardroom, but if the design is nice enough and the name isn't too obnoxious otherwise I can get on board.

100% out on anything even remotely suggestive of a specific location (Atlantic, Pacific, Havana, etc. - unless it's the Tennessee Club. :D)

I'd love to see this take off on the jockey mold for something different (lots of people already have lots of A-molds around here - just sayin' :whistle: :whistling:)

So, number and participation TBD. But who am I kidding, probably in for at least 600. ;)

Not too much out there on the Jockey mold that I've seen. With the right name, it'll be something to def consider
