Have Chinese cards mold replica sets gone too far? (3 Viewers)

I think our only choice is to delete the site for the betterment of the human race. I’m not even sure any of us should be allowed on the internet again. It’s Atari 2600 cartridges of Mrs PacMan and Pitfall for us from here on out.

Do I win the auction I have the high bid on?

Everything that could be said on the topic has been said
Challenge accepted: Y'all forgot about the fact that this whole CM thing was scripted from the beginning. I'm just trying to figure out which of you are in on the script so I can figure out who's going to win the next 10 WSOP main events.

There's power in numbers, boys and girls.

OMG, how many hours did I waste spend playing Atari 2600 Pitfall? It was THE BEST. Pretty kick ass, really.

That damn Indiana Jones game and zero instructions.
"So wait I die if I go right and I die if I go left.... This damn game, okay let's try this again for the next 4 hours"
4am, discovering that you had to wait for the sun to hit the right angle on the staff....just like the film.
I think we woke up the whole house celebrating. :ROFLMAO:

I didn't even have an Atari 2600 machine.

I had the cards mold equivalent - the Coleco Gemini.

And then later on, I had a NES clone - the Inteltron 7000.

I guess I better stay on that path and order some ceramic RHCs.

What was Somalia like as a child? Ever burn tires and chew khat?

Lots of good information. As someone with new eyes, its jaw dropping the prices some of yall pay and thats your choice, no skin off my ass and I'm sure the chips are incredible. I've got a custom tina no-mold on the way and Im over the moon because all the cited reasons: cheap, custom, unique. We'll see if they get too slippery (textured 43mm) but I don't play that often.

But if you buy chips to get likes, you're 100% a clown. And if you care that others are buying chips for likes, you're also a clown.

We all know the average person thinks we are all fucked in the head for what we pay for real quality chips. They think dice chips, claysmiths and the rest of the off-the-shelf chips are just fine for their home game and that china clays might be too expense for their needs ( and they are not really wrong ). So I'm not really worried about a noob getting duped and taken for $1000s since most noobs get a bit sticker-shocked looking anything but the cheapest of cheap chips. If they are considering spending big bucks, then they need to do their due diligence. But a big'ol FUCK YOU if you try and dupe someone with these cheap knockoffs. Burn in hell.

But what concerns me is this TinaRHC mold. It's coming and people are going to order live casino designs on it. That's a given. And then just wait till some idiot innocently or on purpose tries to cash just one of those at a casino. It's going to be a shit storm. The casinos will find out where they came from and PCF is going to be fucked. With just one or two counterfeit chips, they might try and control the damage. But with 1000s produced and out in the wild, they will most likely have to scrap their primaries and move to the secondaries, and I'm guessing they will not be all to happy about it. Producing counterfeit chips is a big fucking deal, even if the intention is not to deceive the casinos. Ignorance is no excuse. I really believe people will be prosecuted for having them produced and importing them. And Tommy will probably face "problems" for hosting a place where these counterfeit chips are openly discussed, designed, bought and sold.

So to answer the OP's question "Have Chinese cards mold replica sets gone too far?" A big fucking YES! And it's going to cause a bunch of people some big fucking problems.

I don't even underatand why this mold is needed. The potential headaches it could cause is huge compared to any advantage it would bring.

Beside creating a complete knockoff or counterfeit what value does it bring? A non-chipper isn't going to notice the difference between a CM and RHC mold, so is the only point to try and trick chippers?

I'm sure they're just following demand, so maybe there are folks out there asking for a Paulson-like mold...? Personally I don't understand it either and agreed that the potential headaches outweigh any benefits.

They’ve probably sold like a million card mold chips to PCFers. And how many people actually like the cards mold? I mean I understand that people like a molded ceramic, but the cards itself? Pretty lame.
So how many chips could they sell with an even cooler mold?

what will we call the TinaHC group buys if they can't be public anymore? Because they're technically not a group buy anymore? Not a group buy... NAGB?

Not sure who asked for that mold to get made, but is it too late to change the design to something else?

For non chippers they obviously don't være- they probably don't know what a mold is. So it means this mold is made for chippers. I don't care for it either, and since it seems to potentially bring problems, are the producers able/willing to change the design? @SeanGecko @justincarothers (tagging some GB masters who might be in the know)

Let's get our pitchforks out.

TinaHC is being made because of PCF members. Someone reached out and paid to get it made. Either commissioning the mold directly or placing a large enough order to subsidize it. Simple as that.

Who are the members that got the ball started?
