ImCrossland’s Chipping Journey! (Lol) (8 Viewers)

This has been an absolutely exhausting process for being a hobby so I’m calling this it. This is my first relabel set. All chips acquired aside from the Bullwhacker’s $1 (I have 1/20).

Inlay removal begins Monday. Time to waste my weekend away with how-to videos.

ESPT25k as $1s? would knock this lineup out of the park!

I definitely did not need 2 but it's insane to think these were made for an actual casino and not by chipper themselves. Rack #1 going under the knife.... now!

Paris $1 cost me $3.5/chip. Much better than $12/chip.

You can just tell me if you are set on the lineup and don't really want suggestions, but how married to the purple are you? I'm wondering if the snappers as $5s and the yellows as $20s would work well, then you can throw a green shade in the quarter slot.

Okay, can’t get the paper part off. Damnit time to watch video about nail polish remover or something.

I personally just scraped with the tool seen in the pic in this post and it worked well. Never took anything else to them; the fatter bit helped a lot versus all of the other options I had. The first ten I did were relatively brutal (you can see a couple), but after that it was a breeze; just took some getting used to.

Honestly not the biggest fan of a green frac with this specific lineup, although the ESPT500 wasn’t my favorite either. I like an 8v chip and it felt neutral enough to put in there and not “stick out” either good or bad.

I really thought about a yellow $20 and pink $5 but saw another members mock-up of it and didn’t want to make a lineup too close to theirs, out of respect for what I thought was an awesome project.

@Nanook does the best inlay murder.
I have heard that now from multiple members which means his turnaround time is likely pretty lengthy. Idle hands would make me want to buy something else + I’m really enjoying the process myself (so far).

I’ve got a couple months before the inlays get made so might as well give it a go myself.

Not so bad.....

when it stops being enjoyable, give me a shout. I can ease the pain....

thats a fair point
And a better fit in this line-up.
disagree. given how busy and how much pop there is on all the other chips, the paris $1, while a great chip on its own, seems lost in this lineup.

what about AS $1s?

I did a total of 5 racks and literally spent a whole weeks vacation doing it.. it can be grueling but be careful with the non acetone removal because it can stain if you leave on there for 20-40 seconds. I messed up and tried to do front and back of about 8 chips. Some were super easy and others not so much. Good luck

I think this lineup is great, awesome color, super fun and light, great cali set. Are you doing these inlays? If not hopefully something as light and fun.

Thanks! Yep, the Big Top Joker inlay shown is what’s going on it. Will go into more detail about it in a dedicated thread once the project is complete but needless to say, I love everything about the BTP inlay so it had to be used in whatever I was putting together.

He’s quick

I just want to know who put the Dalek on this chip in the first place?!
  had to look that one up. Very odd to put that symbol (for some reason I always thought lighthouse) on the inlay but make no reference to it in the club/casino name.

Make sure you do the color of the flag to match the body of the chip. It's a subtle thing, but it makes a big difference.

Murdering chips is not enjoyable. It absolutely sucks. But I think I still got to about 2000 or so before I finally said no more.
Truth. I can only manage a few barrels at a time - in fact, I still have a rack of ESPT T25s sitting on my shelf waiting to be converted into AS $25s. Lord help me when it comes time to murder an entire set of 800 or so chips! o_O

I've been doing nothing but murdering (and buying moar) chips since covid times.
I'm at +30 racks for this year...a few more and i'm done.

Then comes the labeling part (+6000 labels)....after that i'm not murdering a chip for the foreseeable future.
Hope all is well in kangerooland
