i don't really remember people complaining during the jack cincy sale, but maybe that's because i didn't go for anything higher than the $500pri which i was able to get comfortably and still have. also dunno if there was as much demand for the jack chips.
Jack THC $1 $2 and Snapper

ohh right. i actually didn't really like the $1 but it's THC so i can see the demand, the $2 was awesome though. the snapper i actually think is hideous, but i'm not gonna go there or i might get banned

99 out of 700 is what i got, and the GO were all in amazing shape
Jim sure did you dirty there. I’ve never seen such disrespect. To leave you one chip short of a full rack??? What is the world coming to?

Personally, I’d send them back with a sternly worded note. Maybe vow to NEVER buy during a @TheChipRoom sale ever again! You gotta teach them a lesson!

Ps. I didn't participate. I missed out. I thought the sale was today at 9 in the afternoon. Some jerk off posted that time in the thread.
Read the OP. Lots of tongue-in-cheek comments about timing, but if you want the straight dope, read Jim's words in the OP. It's not hard.

100%. If those same people got through, they wouldn’t suggest any changes and just replied with a “got ‘em”.

Also, please stop suggesting that this man raise his prices lol. God bless you Jim.
Exactly, how often do we get a chance to buy different denomination Paulson chips in bulk for between $1-$2 a chip? last few months it's been nearly impossible to pick up a rack of anything for less than $300+

I didn't get everything wanted either, but the prices he offers for the chips and the way he sets up the sales gives me the same chance to score as those with deeper pockets

im just gonna leave this here. laugh or cry.

This thread is over 1k posts so quite easy to miss but....

Also note what you quoted.

@TheChipRoom, I'm pretty sure you've been waiting for me to come in here and assauge your anxiety. Maybe not, but just in case:

Everyone who is telling you how you could improve the way you sell chips is really making suggestions as to how you could make it better for them. And if that doesn't get them the chips, God knows they'll be more suggestions...nevermind if it actually makes things worse.

You're never gonna please everyone. I got shut out yesterday, but I have no complaints. I've always had great dealings with you in the past. Thank you for doing what you do.

For all the newer members, it might be interesting for you to know that Jim has in fact tried many different sale formats before. Depending on number of chips he has, and probably other factors like his time/ other businesses/liquidity/who knows what... However after every sale, there's been someone who didnt get chips, and who have had something to say about the way he runs his business. Just know that he obviously has his reasons for doing it the way he does.

- He has made changes to the percetages.
- He has offered premade tourney / cash breakdowns instead of rack sales
- He has held silent auctions
- He did mention considering different payment options than the paypal store, but after researching it further paypal was the best option (although admittedly not great).
- He has listed chips by the rack directly to eBay instead of here.
- sale by PMing him, prices and breakdown on demand.

And probably more.

My tip to the new members that didnt get anything this time around is: accept how Jim runs his sales and try to maximize your chances of getting chips by preparing well and practice if possible. There's plenty of good insight in this thread on how exactly you do the sale as quickly as possible. Limit the different denominations you try to get, and try to focus on what's most important for you. For example I really liked the secondary snappers in this sale, and also would have liked a barrel of either 5k, but I decided I could spare them, as the risk was to big since I expected those two denoms to sell out first. It would have messed up my order, and maybe made me get nothing. I've also missed out on sales previously, and it sucks, but there will always be a next time if you stick around a few more months/years. This time we actually know there's one more sale of these excact chips coming so good luck when the time comes!

unfortunately these are so ineslatic that there is very very little risk in flipping them.

Jim clearly gives away huge amounts of his potential profit to avoid inventory loss and community politics as heavily as he does but maybe there are factors we can’t account for. I have no idea what capital he has to put out upfront for the chips.

His model isn’t a good one for maximizing profits, it’s good for clearing inventory and minimizing the period during which he’s dealing with logistics.

The market place is going to see prices skyrocket because it’s a much more precise environment to eek out prices from individual buyers when the sellers can gauge demand and wallet size. Jim doesn’t want to get into messaging individuals and haggling but if these were sold like the RPCs, he and a bunch of others could have made way way more money.

Not suggesting he should do this or that it’s good for the community by any means. But when the demand is so high the prices are going to skyrocket without artificial limits Like what Jim imposes on himself
There was a time when chip room sales sat there for months if not years with inventory. Jim has experienced that. He’s not a singles seller. A singles seller would have no problem sitting on racks and selling one or two chips a month.

It’s not always about maximizing profit, eventually you reach a stage in life when it’s all about making life simpler. Most of the time that costs you, either up front or behind when you sell for less than maximum but at a price for convenience. So you do things that don’t maximize, but they make your life overall simpler. I’m not talking about washing your clothes by hand and shit, I’m talking about making your life enjoyable and hassle free. This model is simple and after a week of hectic it’s over and done and he’s ready to move on with life.

The golden tickets is what helped killed this sale. So many redeemed for so few chips…..
and they wasted them on RHC.

Cleared them out of our way for the next one though.
When was the last THC sale besides that okay single Jack Cincinnati $1 in the set?

Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Until he renames his business The RHC Chip Room I’m going to remain optimistic.

But with the turnover in some of these casinos I can understand them not wanting to spring for THC that you may have to sell in three years.

I don't think most people are hunting for THCs and getting labels. And the odds of the right color you're looking for might be low.

We've had a pretty good run on some denominations with the golden tickets. While I won't give exact numbers, here are the denominations that are under 1000 chips. Please plan accordingly

Secondary
$2.50
$1000
$5000
$25,000

Primary
$25,000

Hopefully, PayPal won't screw up the inventory this time! Good luck everyone.

Jim
This has to mean something. Maybe not though. But they had to meet percentages too, so maybe they bought a bunch of the other inventory? But maybe they bought something else to meet their percentages.

If a / the persons with a Golden Ticket didn't max order, they did it all wrong.

Or...... not
Not even the Jack Cinn 2.50 or MINT $100 sec went like this
I smell another party
I know we are all conspiracy theorists but when 400+ people are trying to make a sale AND the chips available were more limited than previous, I find it more likely that the simplest solution is actually what happened. More people seeking than chips available.
