KEM significant price increase coming July (2 Viewers)

I work in a casino in Indiana. Casinos are required to purchase gaming equipment by vendors that have been approved by the gaming commission. Cards and dice have to be the highest of quality and are delivered in crates with security seals. Also, the cards all have unique patterns and art for each casino. This way no one can buy an off the shelf set and bring in a card.
I wonder if that's KEM's new business model. Get in bed with the various gamming commissions, get on the AVL and then stick it to the Casinos. (and avoid retail)

The casino would/should foot the bill for the proprietary pattern/design/color of their particular card setups, and if you're making (arguably) the best cards in the business, the old-school way(?), and that matters to a casino, then probably. I'm stunned a casino would be paying retail price if they're ordering sets by the high hundreds if not thousands of sets. Especially if they're cycling through their cards every three months.

If I'm a midwest Casino in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, WI, Minnesota...etc... I'd be like... "GEMACO! IT IS!"... ...which is what Ho-Chunk and Treasure Island Casinos use. :sneaky: Or least they were... it's been a while.

For reference regarding premier quality - several WI casinos have already moved on from Paulson to BR Pro (not slighting them in a least) or some ceramic maker. I will say, even the TINA non-molded/non-hybrid chips feel better than the Sevenwinds Casino chips in Hayward, WI. ...I do fancy the Lake of the Torches 43mm Paulson's though.

How do changes in “packaging prices” result in a 60% increase? Isn’t most of the production cost the cards themselves?

It sounds like some casinos have limited choices and can only buy cards that have been approved by their state gaming commission.

I mean, if we're counting cool boxes into card quality, then Desjgn is even better than how great they already were!

But wait, there's more !

Why pay 3x the cost a few months ago when you can pay 4.5x the cost now ??!!!

The more you buy, the more you SAVE the jobs of poor KEM executives who are soon to be out of a job given non-exist revenue.

Nice to know I can amortize the payment for 1 setup of cards over 6 months at a criminal rate of interest.

Got two unopened setups of poker jumbo I purchased a year ago. Considering selling to fund buying moar setups of other manufacturers. Does that make me a dirty flipper now?

This is insane, $90 for 2 decks of cards

I can buy 88 decks of China Copag at that price (90usd = about 636 yuan)

Would be funny if we see a deck of casino-harvested KEMs for sale on here one day
I know you're joking, but casino Kems are highly sought after around here, partly because they're so hard to get, and partly because a lot of people speculate that they may be better cards than retail Kems. I've owned casino Kems, but never at the same time as retail Kems, so I've never made a direct comparison. But casino Kems are as good as it gets, in my mind.

I have the Casino KEMs (WSOP2011) and retail KEMs and I don't see any difference. Some guys say that Casino KEMs are less prone to warpage but none of my KEMs show any sign or warping.
