My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (19 Viewers)

Just another update, aside from an occasional cough I am almost fully recovered. No longer confined to eat just bananas, apples, soup, crackers and toast I'm able to eat some more complex foods (albeit I can barely finish half of a meal given how my body adjusted to eating so little over two weeks)

Jenn, despite going through Covid as well, took amazing care of me. My neighbors are frigging angels and mowed our lawn for us (I think about a year ago the husband had been injured so I took it upon myself to mow their lawn to help out and they've returned the favor many times over).

Lots of friends and family reached out to check on us, offer assistance, etc. and it's been truly amazing for all the support. I'm still taking it easy and hoping in the next couple of days to be back to 100%

Very and truly glad to hear you are on the mend! But I have to be the asshole and ask - now that you're mostly recovered from a diagnosed case, do you still think you had COVID twice last year?

I'm still quite certain I have experienced multiple bouts of Covid. I would say this one was the 2nd worst as far as symptoms went, although it palled compared to the original bout which knocked both Jenn and I completely on our asses for a full week. Like, we barely wanted to move a muscle, and the dry cough was positively brutal.

This time around for me the hardest part was the nausea, it was really difficult feeling that uncomfortable stomach all day and trying to eat what little I was able to. But compared with that first bout I felt like I had more energy and ability to do stuff than that first horrible week back in the beginning of 2020.

My long-awaited return!

We have moved from a sucky 2/2/5 table (up $48) to the 5/5/10

We are down $100 on the day when we pickup :ah::qh::ts::4s:

Guy in the CO has frequently been straddling, then raising pre when everyone calls, known LAGFISH

He does it again and we repot for half our stack, he rips and only runs once

Board comes :kd::9s::7d::jd::qs: and we double

We are button with :kc::qc::qs::9s: and after two limpers we pot to 60

THREE callers

Flop :qd::3h::2h:

We pot, they fold

Next hand I'm rock with AA73 no suits, few limpers, I check my option

Flop :ts::tc::4c:

I bet 50, one caller. Turn :ah:

I check, he checks. River :5s:

I check, he doesn't bite

Next hand dealt T753 on the rock, flop JT7, turn 7, I bet, no callers

Lol, guy just blocker-bet $25 on the river with his 7-high flush, got raised to $150 by another fish with the Ten-high......and still called

I just need one hand against either of these guys to make bank

Sounds like the opportunities aren't there tonight. Probably more profitable to go home early and hit the casino again when the line up is better.

Lol, -$807 overall on the session. I announce last hand as I'm UTG, and limp :kh::kd::td::6c:

One limper, maniac pots, gambooler calls, I repot for $160

Maniac and Gambooler call, so there's roughly $500 in the pot and I have about that behind

Flop :7d::5c::5s:

I rip it, gambooler calls and shows

:kc::5h::3c::2s:

He tried to give me his money, calling my limp-repot with that piece of cheese, but got a fortunate flop that I pretty much have to shove due to SPR

First hand of note, we are sb with :7s::7h::2h::2c:

The rock is the button, we limp, 7 ways to a flop

:9c::3c::2d:

I pot for $35, three callers. We're praying for a red 8 but the turn is :4c:

We all check to button who only bets $40, I call, one other caller

River :8d:, the card we wanted on the turn. We check-fold our set

Just feels like a punt to me. Why limp re-pot with kings with just one suit and not very connected?

Just feels like a punt to me. Why limp re-pot with kings with just one suit and not very connected?

Because my hand rates to be a favorite against the maniac potting and the fish who called him

I have a suit, a pair, the KT connect and the T6 connect

Is my hand amazing? No, but against their ranges it should be ahead

On the flop my SPR is 1:1. Generally a paired flop like this is safe for AAxx or KKxx hands.

I can't check and let them hit for free, usually I am ahead on this flop

I can't help a guy called 160 with K532, but I wouldn't play it any differently given my opponents and the board texture and SPR

Ok against that hand pre youre a big favorite, but against Asxxx your basically flipping. And the kt and t6 are connected yes but just barely, if it was kkjt or even double suited kings I'd like your hand much better.

Just seems like you have a slightly above average hand, nothing to go crazy with pre. Especially since you announced last hand, you can't expect to have your opponents respect your tighter play, which takes away any fold equity.

Was stuck $1200 on the day but rallied back to take a small $280 loss, mostly thanks to flopping the nuts on a 789 flop against a guy with T6
