I'm not sure there is a fair way to sell casino chips with such a low supply. And the other two sets have less chips? My dreams for the Tonkawa chips have been shattered!

He mentioned that at least the secondarys we're way limited. I thought he said the tonkawas were not as much as these....so I'd guess they are in the middle in total number.

Cmon, this is America. If you don't like how it's run, get out there, buy out casinos yourself, then hold sales like you want.

Unless your just part of the bitch about everything, never do anything to change it. In that case carry on.
Am I mistaken or are you the one who's been whining about the Yakama sales in the classifieds for 2 months? Did you have a change of heart recently?

Here's my thought for these smaller sales. My wife and I are subscribers at a local community theater group that is very popular and tickets go fast. As subscribers we get to buy tickets for the season before they go on sale to the public. We have to submit a form that lists our preferred dates for each show and preferred seats. We can give up to three choices for each. Once the deadline passes the little old ladies on the ticket committee shuffle the order forms and start issuing tickets.

Something similar could be done here - allow PCF members say two weeks to go to an online form and register their first and second choices for their total order, and an option to say what should happen if the choices can't be filled - e.g. do the best it can with the first choice or pass on the sale completely. The order totals and percentage limits could be systematically enforced there.

Then on the day of the pre-sale each order is assigned a random number and the system starts at the top and works through orders until every order is filled or there are no more chips to sell. At a certain time everyone can go in and see what they got and click a button to go straight to paypal to pay. If you don't pay within 48 hours the ban hammer hits you on the head and you're not allowed in any future pre-sales. Any remaining chips then go to a regular free for all with no limits at a later date.

It sounds kind of complicated but in reality it wouldn't be. There'd be no stampedes and really not any extra work for Jim.

Am I offering to develop such a system? Perhaps. Certainly not in the next two weeks though!

I've been doing some thinking and some soul searching and have come up with truly the most fair system for this.

Before the casino closes we go buy the chips at face value, and then we take the chips home, and then...we keep them.

The only fair was is we place two chippers in a giant done, and they fight to the death... Winner gets the chips, loser gets low grade paper cards...

TWO CHIPPERS ENTER, ONE CHIPPER LEAVES.

If your casino has Paulson quarters or fifty-centers, or even better has both, and you want to sell them to me at face value before you switch racks or destroy them or whatever, tell me when and where and I'll be there.

That's essentially what Jim is doing, giving PCF members first crack at them before they're available to the public... public being eBay. I guess if PCF is SO popular amongst anyone that could potentially buy casino chips that we "are" public, but I still see these sales from Jim as awesome pre-sales available to us first... do we need a subsect of PCF to be offered a Pre-Pre sale?

Maybe current posting members only? Who knows with these links if people that aren't actually members are buying chips, but I don't think that's the case at all :)

$.25 - 380
$.50 - 580
$1 - 7450
$5 - 5770
$25 - 4145
$100 - 2875
$500 - 400

Something tells me the casino did not open with 380 quarters.

400x $500 is probably exact.

I totally forgot about the fracs. I was moreso talking about the racks of $500 ;)

Just realized that there were actually less quarters than $500's... but I guess the $500's are worth more so they sold out first?

Seriously excited to get my shipment already!! Can't wait to host a game with them! @joker80

I bet the quarters and .50s were 400 and 600 to start, then somebody spent $15 and took a barrel of each home.

I'm not suggesting a pre-pre sale. What I'm suggesting is an orderly way to let PCFers (or anybody really) register their selections and have a chance at getting their order rather than awarding the win to whomever can get through PayPal's horrible ordering process first. Let's face it, the PayPal cart is not designed for these kinds of sales with limited numbers of multiple items and additional rules that can't be systematically enforced.

15 years ago when I was in college they realized the folly of having everyone register for classes at once after a colossal logjam that left people with schedules that were incomplete when 16,000 students jammed the system in the span of four hours. It took weeks to sort everything out. Kids were in danger of not graduating on time it was that bad. The next semester they went to a pre-registering process and then created schedules based on seniority and it went very smoothly. If you didn't get a desired class section you knew it was because you were lower on the seniority list, not because the phone system disconnected you halfway through inputting your choices.

Let's create a different thread where we can talk about your chip flipping hoarding habits and not derail Jims chip sale thread anymore.
Riiiight. The one classified ad I've ever posted in 13 years on either CT/PCF, that I sold at the going rate months after people were selling. Flipping/hoarding "habits" of the one custom ASM set I own.

Nice troll, kid. Good luck in all your future endeavors and labeling projects. Welcome to the blocked list.

Fwiw, I don't think he's a kid.

Legally we are The Chip Cage dba The Chip Room. I had a silent partner a few years ago and bought him out. Had to change the name for legal reasons.

Jim
..... I was just being sarcastic...

*Mind blown*

I think some from this community has treated TCR with a tremendous amount of disrespect today.

There said it.
