Official Dungeons & Dragons Thread... (2 Viewers)

Alright let's do this. Schulenburg every other Saturday for all day sessions. See you in two days.
You gonna train me up? Ha! I wish. I'm so swamped right now I may need to put D&D on the back burner again. The interest is definitely there, but there's just no space on the calendar... :( I expect I will be stuffing boxes and envelopes for the GB I'm running all day this Saturday. I do appreciate the offer though!

So my teenage son is getting into D&D. I haven't played since the 80's, so I've been voluntold to be the DM. I ordered the "Big 3" books and I'm off to the races.

What do you tell someone who hasn't played since 1e?
Any advice on new advances in maps (digital?). Any D&D Table builds out there?

Inkarnate.com has some cool map making features

Ha I need the training. Never done it before but def want to jump in.

I hear you on the time. Wife is up at 3-4 to catch up on work everyday, right about when I’m done catching up and going to sleep for 3 hours.

Once we get reg games going again, I’ll have to donate money to your game one da or do a drop in one day campaign.

Sounds like a plan. I'm looking forward to getting live games going again.

How often is the D&D players handbook updated? Just thinking before I drop $50 on a 7 year old 5th edition. Do you guys think this edition has longevity, along with the recent Tasha updates?

Some people still play 3.5 so you can always play whatever edotion you want if you have a group for it

I think there is still a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal going on the books on Amazon.

I haven't heard any rumors about 6th Ed yet. Seems like 5E will still be here for a while.

I think 5th edition will last for awhile. There's online errata for rule clarifications but no major changes from generally what's in print.

I just bought the three manuals and a DM screen for like $90 total on Amazon. Just arrived today. I was going to buy local, but it was $150 and no DM screen. As much as I want to support small business, that's a bit much for me, personally. I'll buy the modules and other stuff from the local store.

Is there a good place to buy painted miniatures? I'm no good with arts & crafts.

@Trihonda has a pretty stellar build here.

@Alex Lundstrum, I was born in Point. I miss Bill's Pizza and a Point Amber.

They certainly help in large battles. When the halfling magic user wants to do something in a 5' wide hallway behind 2 barbarian fighters, the figuries make it a little more clear why they can't do that.

Like chips, they aren't necessary - but once you use them, it is almost incomprehensible to play without.

So I'm running a campaign for my son's group this Saturday. Fiery Grog Tavern and Madness of the Rat King. Anybody have experience with these?

Got them from 2 minute tabletop. Free to download. I have the pdf's if you'd like. Having not played for 20-30 yrs, the whole Adventurers Guild thing is a mystery to me.

AG is a platform for user created content (mostly adventures) which is pay-what-you-want or similar. WOTC runs the platform but does not create or edit the content.

Some shots from last nights session. Had a ton of fun frustrating the DM as I brought my high AC fighter to the front of mobs.....and went on a dodging frenzy.

If you can dodge a spear, you can dodge a ball!
