Highly recommended, might be my favorite Beam product, Bookers has been a little nutty for me lately (and getting more expensive)

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm leaving work early for a bourbon run. Were visiting family in upstate NY tomorrow. I want to bring something fun (plus, I'll get to drink most of it lol)

Stock up on ECBP 520 while here.

Look what I just found

Here we go...

The 9SBR 120 has the typical KC nuttiness and the higher proof amps up the taste. The 12 is a little less nutty and a tad sweeter, but is a little less flavorful. I'm guessing it's because of the lower proof. The 15LE is definitely more refined. It has less nuttiness, but really nice flavor due to a little more noticeable barrel char. The finish is long and delicious.

Another new pour tonight. This one I dig. Much more than the Bakers. Doesn’t seem too complex, but a nice strong flavor and a solid finish. For the price, might as well always keep one in the cabinet. Thanks for the recommendation @RocAFella1

I try bourbons other than the Wild Turkey lineup. For the same price, the Turkey products are almost always as good or better.

The Russel Reserve Single Barrel is even better than the regular.

I never used to take WT seriously. I always connected it with one of my hick friends who I used to go camping with in college. He used to slam that stuff and then fall asleep in his fold out chair way too close to the fire.

Give rare breed a try too, but russel’s 10y for <$30 is always a winner

When I was younger Early Times and Four Roses were both cheap blended whiskies, not even bourbons. Think along the lines of Kessler, cheap American blended whiskey. Now I see them popping up as bourbon and my initial reaction is they are probably lousy, but I’m wrong. I think the bourbon versions always existed but were not common in the eighties. I distinctly remember my dad winning a bottle of Four Roses blended whiskey in a bowling tournament and telling me it was a cheap low rate booze.

But it says premium right there on the label. ;)

Finally picked one of these up after looking for a couple years. Not cheap, but less than 3x msrp at least lol, looking forward to finally trying it. View attachment 549626

It's very good. Recent scores below. When we starting the bourbon forum? Pisses me off that all bourbon groups are on Facebook.
