Has anyone tried this Kentucky bourbon?

Secondary in California is over $150. Can’t find it anywhere.
Like a year and a half ago it sat on shelves in a couple local spots at like $60-70/, now it’s nowhere to be found. Saw two bottles finally at $199 and just walked out. I mean I’d pay up to $100, but that’s obscene
Got hsi fracs? I can get ya one
Nope, only primary $5ks and a couple sample sets unfortunately

Sounds about right. I could count on just going into the store and scoring a couple bottles even discounted. I’ve been all over California looking for deals and these do not exist in stores without a premium price. Only seen them locked on the big dog cabinets overpriced with the Whistle Pig (which I enjoy just not overpriced).

Seriously though. If anybody can find me a couple bottles of Stagg Jr. sub $85 I'll compensate with $, chips or other bottles I can pickup out here like Blanton's...

I've had batch 12 (some say the best) and its not worth more than $80. Its good, but not worth secondary. Better off with ECBP at retail ($65 here) or JD SBBP sub $65.

I loved batch 12, went back to grab the last 2 bottles on the shelf and it was gone. I like ECBP, B520 was a great batch, but I consistently find myself only craving (barrel proof ideally) Buffalo Trace #1 mash bill and ANY Four Roses barrel strength offerings over any heaven hill, brown foreman or Makers products - just hits my palate better.

Also finally got ahold of one of these recently at only 2x msrp:dead: worth it though.

Normally don't venture into the Jim family other than a bottle of Devil's cut someone left here for cocktails so I didn't expect to like it. Good stuff though.

Had it neat first and it didn't quite have the burn I was expecting/hoping for. I'm still pretty new to bourbon so was expecting something like the Laphroaig cask strength I love so much. Added a small bit of water which I normally don't prefer to do myself and it really made the Baker's much more flavorful. Can't say it will be a staple to keep in my cabinet, but I'd definitely buy it again.

What flavor profiles do you usually like? You’ve gotta try ECBP, OF 1920, Bookers, older Knob creek SBs, WT Rare breed, and absolutely any 4R barrel strength you can find. Those should give you a pretty good idea of what flavors you like at barrel proof. And those should range from $30-70ish

Prior to starting down the path of bourbon over scotch within the past year - I mainly stuck to Four Roses, Bulleit, and WT. I really love Weller and have several bottles stashed as my go to now though. Been searching everywhere for the 107.

It's tough for me because the selection is terrible here. I try to grab a few new bottles to try every time I head out of town for work.

Roc recommended the OF 1920 and ECBP too. I think I can actually get those locally. Haven't been able to find the WT rare breed yet oddly.

Rare breed all over shelves at like $45 here haha, I can get one to you, I’ll send you a 2oz pour of OWA 107 and maybe some other faves with your chips ;)

Weller is a staple for me now. I just want to find something with more heat like the scotches I love. Any ideas?

Cheap 100 proofs. Lol.

Go for barrel proofs. The good ones have alcohol up front but smooth finish. Like Bill, I love ECBP. It’s my standard now. Sometimes a splash of water. Sometimes one big cube. Often neat.
