Got lucky at my local liquor store tonight

Whats the retail on that? I just tried a sample and wasn't impressed.
$73
I like it because it is not as spicy as most ryes. No punch in the face, just easy drinking much like the small batch EHT imo. Just mellow. I am drinking the AE Rye right now and WOW. Huge flavor and punch, which I don't mind at all. I like them both because they are so different, opposites really

Very nice! I haven’t heard of those other two. How are they?
Pretty good and reasonably priced - Widow jane is local from me, Brooklyn i think. Blade and bow is from the Stitzel-Weller distillery but both should be available in some of the big bottle stores. Blade and bow might be a better buy at the price point though ~$45-$55 vs ~$60-$80 for the widow

Blade and Bow is good. It’s smooth. Reminds me of Blanton’s. And of course, they let you know like 6 times on the bottle that it’s Stitzel-Weller.

I've been a little spoiled, rye-wise, lately. Last tasting had two Kentucky Owls in it...

@Saoliver , this is the one that's from the Stitzel-Weller distillery.

That's Stitzel-Weller, and not just Weller, which is no longer associated with the Stitzel-Weller distillery. :p:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Blade and Bow is decent whiskey, but the Stitzel-Weller on the label is just a marketing gimmick. If there's one drop of Old SW juice in that bottle, I'd be shocked.
Oh, they are VERY proud. And there is Old SW juice in there, but probably just a drop...so that they can tell you 6 times on the bottle that it's SW.

Part of their schtick is mentioning that they use the solera process, keeping some of the old bourbon in the barrels as the age the new stuff. they allude to having that SW still in there but never mentions how much or from what batch
Either way, i was surprised i liked it as much as i did

In the book Pappyland, they talk about how the majority of the leftover SW juice was dumped into Crown Royal as a filler. They sold off the remaining supply at $200 a barrel
