EXTRA spicy on the nose, but such a great pour. Plus the cork ALWAYS POPS!! Great bottle and cork
Love the nose. Don’t love the pour myself, but I’ve only had one sip.

Went to my local store to grab more stagg jr, but it was all gone and pickings were slim so I just grabbed something random lol

Yeah, I am finding that I am not really a rye guy. There are exceptions of course. Mid winter is awesome, and I like the EHT straight rye, Michters rye and High West DR for me are ok

What a great bottle. I have been enjoying it way more than I expected to.

Ok! @Saoliver

Just done blind tasted our Infinity bottles.

For the record, we have never tasted either, ever. My wife poured them, tagged one on the bottom of the glass, without me looking obviously, and I compared blind.

A.
Nose was a bit richer than B, light caramel, chocolate
Palate was a bit bleak, not impactfully
Finish was quick

B.
Nose was not strong, but cherry, caramel, and some red fruit
Palate was also a bit weak, but a stronger proof for sure
Finish lasted a bit longer

Tough pick, but I chose B by a nose (wife chose A) - Really close for both of us.

A was @Saoliver
B was mine

Ok, I just tasted both again, and I got more cinnamon off B (mine) but maybe higher proof off A (Scotts) than I first had. I have enough to try both again (and I will!!) Such FUN!! B has the early edge for me, A for the wife. We will do it again over the weekend....FOR SCIENCE!

It seems there is an overall general consensus to which are PCFs favorite whiskey/bourbons (Weller, stagg, four roses, old forester, etc)

may I request a general list of these whiskeys/bourbons with what a reasonable retail price would be as I’ve seen fluctuating prices from store to store? It would surly help when standing in the isle or liquor store debating on whether it’s +/- EV.
I think @kmccormick100 has the most accurate prices for Alameda and Contra Costa Co. Down here things are available but a bit of markup.

In the Bay there is a lot of markup at retail stores, or a ton of demand at places that sell at reasonable prices, AKA it’s hard to get what you want at a reasonable price. As a rough buyer’s guide I’d recommend buying these bottles at anything under the price listed:
- Stagg Jr < $90
- George T Stagg < $350
- Weller special reserve < $35
- Weller 107 < $80
- Weller 12 < $110
- Weller Full Proof < $200
- EH Taylor Small Batch <$50
- Eh Taylor Barrel Proof < $200
- Four Roses Private Selects <$85
- Four Roses Single Barrel < $40
- Elijah Craig BP < $75
- Old Fo 1920 < $60
- Bookers < $70
- Wild Turkey Rare Breed < $50
- Old Rip Van Winkle 10 < $300
