For most bottles. There are some really good options in the 35-50 dollar range. I'd rather stock more of them than 1 expensive bottle.

Damn. That's my minimum these days, after trying the elite shit it ruins everything. Typically I'd say 60 is my min, but I've gotten Weller full proofs for 50. I guess I'm the opposite, I'd rather have one amazing bottle than 4 decent bottles.

Of course I hope that doesn't happen. I try to buy 4 of each release at 60 to stock up just in case they do raise the price

Most people aren't pyscho like me. When you have so many open bottles it's hard for me to pick what to drink each night. I rarely have the same thing more than once in a week. Since May I've probably only killed 5 to 10 bottles, but I also host frequent tastings so it's hard for me to kill a bottle when I want someone else to get to try it.

That's one of the best budget options also.

For budget options my favorites are

Ecbp
1920
Rare breed
Old scout picks/Belle Meade cask strength
Knob creek picks
Jack Daniel's single Barrel barrel proof

Those 6 cover a lot of the spectrum and all are below 60 and easy to find. All are essentially barrel proof and well aged and come from 6 different distilleries.

A step up from there in price and difficulty to find would be

Stagg jr
4roses store picks (barrel proof)
EH taylor single barrel
Weller 107/full proof
Bookers

After those its mostly the top shelf shit everyone chases that's super expensive that gets my attention.

Is the Laphroig 10 cask strength by any chance? If not, you should get a bottle. Both are great, but the cask strength takes it too a whole other level!

Got it. The Bag on the far right looked like it was Black foil. I know there were a run of "santa hat" 15 year bottles, but didnt know if there were differences with 23y depending on Bottle date.

The black foil is an illusion. It's actually the top of the bottle behind the black felt.
