Haha, the final things to do are build a custom table, get some comfy chairs, replace the wall shelves with dark stained wood and pipe brackets.
Pipe brackets I predict will be a trendy thing that people scoff at in a decade or two. I personally like them, but can envision installing them in my house, then going to sell it in 10 years and wishing I didn't.

Picked up this store pick single barrel today. I’m curious to taste how it compares to the small batch.

Shhhh... :x (don't tell to many people about Clynelish! :p)

Kidding obviously. Big fan off all things Clynelish. Old, young, ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry: Gimme!

Ive only been drinking whisky for 3 years and more I drink the better my palate gets. It really starts to separate the what I like and don’t like.

example: when I first bought ETL I thought it was so delicious and I really liked it. But I poured myself some more recently and I kept getting this crayon note on the nose and palate. Maybe my bottles been sitting too long

Example 2: I opened this clynelish remembering how much I liked it 2 years ago when I finished my bottle. Tasting it now and it’s so much better than I remember.

I think I’m just finding what I like and don’t like which is why I recently said I’ve been leaning more towards scotch than bourbon

There's a certain Bourbon reviewer (part of a duo that has blown up the last year or so) who tasted Lagavulin 16, maybe three years ago. He hated it!! Said it was the worse thing he ever tasted. Disgusting! Nowadays, he drinks way more Islay Scotch than Bourbon behind the camera (secretly so his fans are not disappointed). Loves Octomores, Lagavulin 12s and Ardbegs Cask Strength, LOL!!!

That’s me. First bottle I bought was lagavulin because everyone loves it right? I took it to a poker game and everyone loved it but when I drank it I was wtf?!!?! But of course I had to play it off

Now I find myself loving octomore and ardbeg uggy in in my top 5. Honestly I have some pretty decent bourbons in my cabinet but none are on my top 5 (actually that WLW pacmartine sent me is up there).

my goal used to be all btac but now I’m looking for flora and faunas

While I’m not quite there yet certainly see myself heading down that path.

I love both quality American Whiskey and Scotch Malts. I certainly understand both sides of the argument but don't personally argue one way or another as taste is purely personal. Don't wanna convince anyone of anything.

If I was forced to make a choice though, Scotch Malt Whisky would be my pick. Of the bottles I own, ¾ are Scotch and ¼ American Whisky is my guess. Maybe ⅔ vs ⅓.

Have you posted photos of your cabinet? I wanna see

I have 2/3 bourbon and 1/3 scotch but my scotch bottles empty way faster. And I find myself replacing my scotch bottles but not so much when I finish my bourbon bottles

I think I would be embarrassed, man. LOL!!! I don't think there's a room in the house without poker chips and bottles of whisky, LOL!!!

BTW, tonight I'm drinking a Cadenheads bottling of a 1994 Mortlach matured for 21 years exclusively in refill ex-Bourbon barrels.

Amazing dram!

I had some caddenheada bunna today that was amazing. Wish we got more stuff from them here

Same here. Cadenheads might be my favorite independent bottler. So much quality, man... Not a whole lot of US releases unfortunately.

That line of Signatory Cask Strength is fire as well! One can almost buy them blind and the quality will be there.

Damn! I thought that was you personal collection at first! Lol. Wasn’t until I clicked the first pic and saw the price tags.
I've got security schematics for the building. Need an Ivan Boesky and the biggest Ella Fitzgerald ever, but I think we can pull off the heist.
