What are your go-to Irish Whiskey's? Trying to find something new. I like Jameson and Jameson Black Barrel.
My favorite so far is green dot (spot?) at around $60. My wife is the Irish whiskey drinker I my home. Haven’t tried yellow dot yet but I promised my wife I’d get her one when the baby isn’t breast feeding anymore. She tries to limit whiskey intake for obvious reasons.

Anyone tried walking stick single barrel? Got it recommended. Apparently distilled at Barton 1792 part of Sazerac. On sale for $32.99.

Uh, I’m still a bit gobsmacked:

WTF! You need to start spreading the wealth. I'll never even see a bottle on the shelf near me at any price.

Well, in fairness, I wasn’t looking. It is one of my local mom and pop stores, and he saw me at the grocery store and told me he might have a bottle, although “it wasn’t what you asked me to keep an eye out for....” (I had asked him to look for Stagg Jr and ETL.)

lol, but I’ll take it.

Continuing the rye kick - also, i passed on some Yippee Ki Yay a little while back, is that one worth it at ~$80? Think maybe @gopherblue might have picked one of those up before

TBH, I didn’t love YKY, but that may be because I was tasting it side-by-side with MWND. But that’s a decent price, from what I’ve seen, and if you like ryes and have MWND, it may be worth getting since it is discontinued. I’ll have to revisit it again and see if my opinion changed.

I think @ChaosRock had a similar view?

Maybe MWND is the next one then since i dont have that one yet, and it seems like a bunch of people here enjoy that one

Anyone have any of these woodford reserve master collections? Any good (and worth the price)?

Since I have longstanding relationships with many of my suppliers, I’ll often get first crack at their new acquisitions. Here’s a list that was just sent to me. Anything stand out in particular? My eye went to 2 specific bottles.

Um yes. Old Mock pint - speechless ... the Old Taylor pint, and all the NDs ... wouldn’t have the heart to open any of them except the Old Crow and OGD, but lord have mercy if they’re clear, they’re gold. Bourbon history.

I've only heard that the chocolate malted rye is terrible.
I haven’t heard that but assumed it given that it was released about a year ago and still available. However that was also the case for the Wild Turkey Masters Keep (which I heard was fantastic but most people didn’t want to pay the MSRP for it)

Valentine’s gift from my wife: a Japanese cut crystal glencairn-esque glass. Wider and slightly more squat bowl, with similar sized flute. Feels great in the hand and nice weight. Next to a traditional glencairn for comparison.

Can’t wait to try it tonight...decisions, decisions on which candidate gets to go first....
