Thanks, Jim. They were all really good. I’d pay $100+ for each of them.AND NOW......LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE NUMBER ONE PICK!!!!!
In 1st Place, D:
98.9 Proof
$70
Thomas S. Moore - Finished in Port Casks
My picks were:
#1: B - Parker's (LOVE this one....one of my favorite whiskeys I have ever had)
#2: D - TSM Port (wonderful, isn't it? Way to go Barton!)
#3: A - SW UCUF (obviously outstanding)
#4: C - Remus RR II (Also outstanding)
This was not an easy blind as all three were absolutely terrific whiskeys. I almost felt bad you had to rank them! HAHA. I am very glad you enjoyed them!!!
It goes well with Poker After Dark, haha. Anxious to hear how they are side by side, I know I have a preference.Knob Creek 15 year Limited Edition courtesy of @kmccormick100 tonight. Thanks Kyle. Going to try it alongside a store pick KC
Lotta oak but still a good amount of sweetness on the nose. Taste: Lotta rye spice up front with oak. Very dry feel. Almost a tobacco taste to finish maybe that’s just more oak. Not a ton of sweet but a smidge comes through.Knob Creek 15 year Limited Edition courtesy of @kmccormick100 tonight. Thanks Kyle. Going to try it alongside a store pick KC
Pretty much what you said, if the 15y were $60 I’d buy it often, I think I found it for $80 at Costco, wouldn’t pay $100 for it. The other 14.5y store pick I have is one of the best bottles I’ve ever owned, fights way above its weight class, super tasty, balanced, complex and I prefer the 120proof.Lotta oak but still a good amount of sweetness on the nose. Completely different from anything else in my cabinet right now so it was a nice change of pace. 15 year store pick wins hands down for me in a side by side. The higher proof, slightly sweeter, and less oaky store pick is tough to beat for me personally.
Don't forget Pappy'sMaker's is wheated. Weller is a unicorn in Indiana, but it is also wheated. I'm sure you knew. There are also a bunch of wheated whiskeys, but not sure if they are bourbons, like Bernheim and Wyoming. There's a Woodford and a 1792 too. Again, I'm sure you knew.
I decided to go dry on a Monday once. It didn’t suit me.On a whim, I decided to go dry for June. So, tonight I’m hitting a few of my favorites. Just small pours.

Likewise, and I did the same the past 2 weeks prior to the Alpha meetup. Made up for it and then some lol.I'm in the middle of a dry fortnight...ends at Jammin' in Jersey.
Man, that’s some piss water!Just picked up an EC A121 and a Michters Small Batch. Also, I just heard that the EC B521 is only 118.2 proof - lowest ever!

I’ve been seeing $100 a lot lately.. smh
Yeah that's pretty standard around here (which is why I haven't tried it yet). I got the ECBP for $60 or $65 in February. Not a good sign.$125 the Toasted?!?! Ugh!
Ouchie. I'll pick up every EC TB I see around me from now on, and send them to the less fortunate.Yeah that's pretty standard around here (which is why I haven't tried it yet). I got the ECBP for $60 or $65 in February. Not a good sign.
