i will take any of these...but especially the yama18

The Little Book 5 is pretty dang good. It would be fun to compare notes to somebody else who has some.

Found a place with EVERYTHING, in Santa Barbara. The place was ram-jammed with amazing bottles. With crazy prices to match. Just a couple pics of <0.25% of their stock.

But I did find one excellent value, at a very reasonable markup from MSRP.
That top right looks like it might be Chapter 1? Maybe?

It was great meeting @Big Jilm on Saturday. Thanks for the beer! My wife always gets a kick out of meeting my internet friends. Hahahaha

So, yeah… I sent 7 bottles Jim’s way and took home 18 bottles from him. :p I can’t resist Oregon prices. I appreciate @Big Jilm so much for finding and storing these bottles for me. This meetup was months in the making. And so worth it!

I don’t know what I’m most excited to try.

I think I've said it before, but I'm glad I've got the Blue Spot in my collection, but it is by no means my preferred Spot.

My favorite distillery is Laphroaig. The 18 year old is no longer bottled but if you can find it, it’s a beautiful whisky. Their Quarter Cask is also quite good but not as subtle as the 18.

I am very fond of peated whiskies like Laphroaig and Lagavulin and sweet Sherry bombs like Glenrothes.
Welcome, and if you follow this thread prepare to be inundated with bourbons!

Where is the best place for bourbon reviews?
I've always found that in all things subjective like movies, books, food, whiskey that the best result from reviewers comes by finding 4-5 things you like/dislike and searching for a reviewer who feels the same way about those things. If you hate something and they hate something and you like something else and so do they, then when they recommend something or say you can skip something you can normally trust their judgement. YMMV

I find it almost laughable how stores all charge different prices for the same product. By different, I mean exponentially more.

Angels Envy Rye for example. I got it for $75/bottle. Most places it’s $92-$98.
The store next to my house has it for $399.99. I don’t get it. I haven’t said anything, as I don’t want to offend. I assume they believe some sucker will buy it, but every other store within 5 miles (and there are about 8) has it for less than $100.

I see that almost every store around me has 1 bottle in the price gouging range with every other store having it at the normal price.

YMMV
