Back to my bourbon roots tonight…

Probably 150 would be the max. Mind you I've never actually seen one in a store for sale to that may skew the price a little bit in the wrong direction for what it's actually worth.
I know exactly what you mean. I bought a weller 12 for double or triple retail for the same reason

For me I’ll buy any Buffalo Trace or Eagle rare single barrel picks all day at $25-40 over EHT SB that often gets marked up to $150+ around here. Bought one bottle at $70ish once and it was fine, but about on par with the BT/ER picks.

That said, I’m on the hunt for Stagg Jr single barrel store picks now and will probably pay a lot when I find one haha.

Yeah, the allocated drops in Murfreesboro aren't the best, especially at the stores that seem to get the most. Liquor Planet doesn't sell any allocated at retail. I've bought a Weller FP store pick at $180 there and was sick paying that amount.

That’s a $300+ bottle out here if it makes you feel better haha

Man, this is weird. I will do my best to explain. The nose is mostly very similar on both. Cherry, caramel, dark rich chocolate, some proof and a bit of oak. The key difference being that the 2018 has a strange floral note to it. While the 2020 has this waffle cone thing happening. All of this translates to the palate for both. Again though, that weird floral thing (almost like dish soap) is there on the 2018. Once it fades it gives way to all those pleasant notes mentioned above. The 2020 same deal, but with a pleasant waffle cone. Both have amazingly long pleasant finishes. Ultimately, I would obviously buy either one. But the 2020 takes the cake for me. Since there will be no GTS this year, I hope I can find some in 2022.

As a result of there being no GTS for 2021, my 2021 wish list has changed a little:
  1. Any Van Winkle
  2. William Larue Weller & ER17
  3. Parker's Heritage Heavy Char
  4. 4 Roses Limited Edition
  5. Midwinter Nights Dram
  6. Weller Full Proof
  7. Old Fitz
  8. Old Forester Birthday Bourbon
  9. Weller 12 Year (just want to make poor mans pappy)

Very sad to be all out of GTS. I guess I will try my new Seagrass. Different proof from 1st round!

Damn, well it is just the neck pour. But so far, the new 119.84 proof is not nearly as good as the 118.58 proof. I shall try them again next week. I have 1 open plus 3 back ups of 119 and only 2 sealed bottles of 118. I hope this gets good FAST
