Many thanks to Roman, @onerand for following up our important DE safety razor shaving discussion at DCS with a gift of several types of blades to try and some Captain's Choice Bay Rum aftershave.

If you're getting into wet shaving for real, let me know. I'll send you some Mike's Natural Soap. It takes a little bit of a learning curve to whip up a good batch, but is worth the effort. It is the most comfortable shaving soap/cream/jel/oil I have ever tried, and it comes in amazing scents as well.

Requires a good brush and bowl to get the lather right, but so good when you figure it out. I think I tried for about 2 weeks before I was able to get it right.

You're off to a good start. The 34c is not aggressive enough for my tastes, but if your facial hair is less tough than copper wire, you're looking at a classic.

That's a great setup you have there. I'll send you some Mike's Natural Soap to try.

pick a scent. I'm partial to the Orange, Cederwood, Black Pepper. Mike is a great guy, and his products are way above others. Sooooooo comfortable.

I am also on this kickstarter. Looks awesome. I LOVE Feather blades. So sharp. My first foray into SE wet shaving.

@PAZ made some of his famous cinnamon bread as gluten free for me (and presumably others) for DCS. When he saw I wasn't able to attend DCS, he shipped some of the gluten free bread to me, and some to my parent's house for them.

He never said a word. It just showed up in the mail one day. This level of thoughtfulness and generosity never ceases to blow me away.

Thanks PAZ!

So glad you and the family enjoyed it; I'm always happy to make it! I got a very nice Thanksgiving card from your folks last week, really sweet people.
And thanks again to you and @bergs for the BBotB free roll. I'm hoping to not get KO'd with pocket Jacks for the 3rd year in a row,

These people are the Horseshoe Heroes. They did not buy a bunch of chips with the intent to resale them at BS prices so others can pay for their sets. I never wanted a HS set but there were a few denoms I had my eye on for other projects. These guys have sold to me at presale or main sale prices. One of them even took 20 bucks off the price to help with Great Divide beer money. Thanks Bill! That will drop my bar tab to a grand or so!!!

For all you other chippers out there, this is what builds and maintains a community. These guys will always have a reserved VIP spot at my home for any meet up or if they just want to crash at the mountain cabin some time in the future. Thank you so much.

Screw Black Friday! Stay tuned for a Fun Friday Non Flipper’s Circus Flipament Contest for you gentlemen plus the other VIPs (IMO) that make this place special.

Your a solid dude. I don't mind helping out. I figure I'll drink about 20 bucks worth of beer anyways so why not.

Thanks to @joeyshin for the awesome PNY set he sold me. He negotiated with me to get the set within my price range. Then he gave me a half a day to figure out if I wanted to pull the trigger on it. Thank you sir. The set is fantastic.

Thanks to @softchewy for quickly answering my constant poker chip questions about this and that and blah blah blah (actually, I should include @ChaosRock in that too).

A quick mention for @Ronoh

I got home from doing a little shopping and I found that I had received a package from him. I was wondering why he had previously asked for my address and never gave it another thought. Now I know! What great asset to our community. Unsolicited he has provided the "First Out" prize for some of the 2017 meet ups.

Thank you Chris!

I cheat (surprise!)

For many years, I've used different soaps and a bowl from Crabtree & Evelyn (I'm partial to sandalwood scent). For the last year, I've cheated by topping the solid soaps with a squirt of Edge gel shave, and whipping both up together with my favorite old English pewter-handled silver-tipped badger brush.

For blades, I'm using Dollar Shave Club's four-bladers. They work better for me than anything else available in a drug store, or DSC's more maneuverable twos or overkill sixes.

Haven't tried a modern DE razor in a long time -- might have to...

If you have a tough beard and sensitive skin, the original muhle r41 from 2011-2012 and a feather blade can't be beat.

I'm getting a new SE razor from a kickstarter that looks even more aggressive.

To me, these things blow away cartridge razors, but require a bit of a learning curve for sure.

Not a shaving post, but I have had excellent experiences dealing with chippers except that one @sshole who stole my Matsui sample set along with thousands of chips from many others. Special thanks to @toad94, the coolest guy with the coolest sets, @David O for a recent transaction, @Johnny5 the greatest designer and of course @Tommy for making this all possible.

I had to share this with the community, so here goes.....

I get home yesterday and check my mail and lo and behold there is a small box from out of the US. On my walk back to the house I was thinking about where this was from and what did I buy that I did not remember coming in. Well I have forgotten about stuff but I was pretty sure I had received all I had coming and I was tracking packages that were due so this was one I could not remember a thing about. So I get inside and open it up and what did I find!!!

This......................

The reason I share this with everyone is because it is stuff like this that sets us apart from many other communities on the web. I did a simple task to help and I received a very nice setup and a very nice thank you card in the mail. As I have communicated in our group PM's, all I did was help and reship since it was the "Atlantic Club 10" team that actually brought the chips to fruition. I think we had a pretty successful Group Buy with over 11,000 chips that went out to places all over the world. I saw a need and jumped in head first with a great group of people and would do it again for this great community.

So a call out is in order for the "Atlantic Club 10" which were the 10 individuals along with myself that worked on the chip colors and denoms once the name was chosen.

I thank each and everyone of you for allowing me to help! Thank you for the Piatnik's, I have been wanting to try a setup and now I can!

Big thanks to Jason from Desjgn Playing Cards. I received an uncut sheet from my son for Christmas, when it arrived in the mail it had
a large bend/crease in it. Jason replaced quickly with no issue what so ever!! Keep supporting our sponsors.

two members I'd like to thank.

@David O He knew I was looking for a PNY dealer button. He had the opportunity to get me one and he did. I received it in the mail on Friday. Thank you sir.

@abby99 She has been my fixed limit consultant. Answering any questions I have had almost immediately. For my first FL game last night she gave me her cell and was "on call" for me. I texted her a couple of times during the game and she immediately jumped to my assistance. Thank you.

As we all know. This is a great community.

Bill

I'm so impressed with your woodworking skills! Congratulations on a remarkable transformation!

I keep very close track of what I am expecting in the mail, mostly because I have very little patience and I am excited when I get new chips.

To my surprise I received an envelope in the mail today. I racked my brain trying to think of what I had ordered, looked through all of my emails and PMs and couldn't come up with anything.

Opened it up to find these below beauties, courtesy of @Ronoh ! Completely took me by surprise and sent them without any notice because he knew I was looking for them. Very awesome, thanks a ton!

I thought I would give this thread a bump since we have many new members that may have not seen this thread. Oh, and I also want to give Kudos to some great members!

I am happy to say that Karma is running really well in this community. I received some Gratis chips in the mail and wanted to say thank you!!! Karma will be returned, just watch, you will see.

@RussB42 - Thank you for the chips. They have made it back with heir brethren.
@Joe E. - Thank you for the two chips! they are being added to the collection and great job packing!
@oONemoOo - I really appreciate the surprise HSC hot stamp chip. It has settled in with it's family.
@carlin - for the nice PNY Roulettes that I added to the collection. The Multi color 814 chips are awesome

What a great group of chippers we have!

I owe a huge "Thank you!" to @PokerChipsDesign for donating design/build time, materials and talent to this year's Black Cat charity auction.

Alain-Pierre donated the Big Kat Kase for free! Epic.

Shout out to @David Spragg for donating the Airtites and for legendary CPC customer service. Too epic to go into details.

Also, @liftapint, @PAZ and @BHB for winning the Halloween chip auctions.

Finally, the super epic awesome generosity of @links_slayer who took down the Big Kat Kase auction. I am humbled, sir. You totes rock. :)
